OK! It has finally come together.
The Tri-State Chapter of Free Republic will be hosting a Leadership Institute Activism Seminar from 9 a.m. to 3 or 4 p.m., Saturday, June 5, 2004, at
The Women's National Republican Club 3 West 51st Street (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, at Rockefeller Center) New York, NY
We will be in the lovely Lincoln Room, which you can view at the WNRC site. The club has rooms available for overnight stays, if anyone should decide to make a weekend of it.
Los Angeles and Friva Las Vegas have already had these seminars, and the reports are excellent. It has been said that even unrehabilitated slot-machine players have enjoyed every minute of these presentations in spite of having looked forward to the casinos for weeks.
Here is a partial list of the topics that will be covered:
The Real Nature of Politics and Elections
Developing a Strategic Message
Motivating and Recruiting Volunteers
Building Coalitions
Targeted Voter Contact
The presentations will be activist-oriented and will fit in perfectly with our goals as activists. Even if we think we have become experts in some areas, there are always new aspects to think about and the focus of a professional to sharpen our wits.
The event will be presented by Dana Stevens, Grassroots Programs Coordinator for the Leadership Institute. Dana is from Savannah and is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. He has been involved in politics from an early age, and most recently, before joining the LI, was on the staff of Congressman Jack Kingston (now serving his sixth term as a Republican representative from Georgia's 1st District).
This is a crucial time for political endeavors, to say the least. We need every conservative to be on "active duty" and we need to be as well equipped as possible for the coming challenges.
Please take the time to sign up now on our secure link.
PAYPAL
Use the e-mail address nancy2003@sluggy.net to send the payment to once you get to PayPal. The cost is $70. If you prefer to pay by check, just freepmail me for the details.
See you in June!

I'd like to say I was going, but I'm on the left coast. I've been to two of the Leadership Institute's seminars and I'd go to a third in a heartbeat. You're in for a treat.

Prepare for attempted infiltration by leftwing journalists. It costs money and has no free food. I don't think we have to worry. Lefties are cheap.

I can't go, it's my busy season, and I have no money either. BUT, this is important, so I will pay half your entry fee ($35.00)if you really want to attend.
Anyone out there who is willing to match this?

This is so very generous of you, clyde260. I have had several people tell me the fee was too high for them. I hope you get a response from someone, and perhaps more people will offer to do this as well.
To: LaserLock
We have 9 verbal commitments and 3 payments (counting mine--LOL).
This is a Free Republic happening, folks. It is geared to FR. There won't be another one like it in this area.
See clyde260's generous offer below.

If you're willing to attend the same seminar three times then they're presenting something of value...

I know this is already set up for downtown, but for future reference, I have an American Legion hall up here in da Bronx, which would be a heck of a lot less expensive, that could accomodate such events. (you would NEVER believe you were in da Bronx!)
