Democratic Radio Address (Bashing Bush & Iraq war -- Major Gag Alert)
FoxNews ^ | May 1, 2004 | Paul Rieckhoff

Posted on 05/01/2004 9:56:40 AM PDT by FairOpinion

I'm giving this address because I have an agenda, and my agenda is this: I want my fellow soldiers to come home safely, and I want a better future for the people of Iraq. I also want people to know the truth.

Since I've returned, there are two images that continue to replay themselves in my mind. One is the scrolling list of American casualties shown daily on the news — a list reminding me that this April has become the bloodiest month of combat so far, with more than 130 soldiers killed.

The other image is of President Bush at his press conference 2 weeks ago. After all the waiting, after all the mistakes we had experienced first hand over in Iraq, after another year of a policy that was not making the situation any better for our friends who are still there, he told us we were staying the course. He told us we were making progress. And he told us that, "We're carrying out a decision that has already been made and will not change.

I worry for my fellow soldiers still fighting this battle. I worry for their families, and I worry for those families who will not be able to share another summer or another baseball game with the loved ones they've lost. And I pledge that I will do everything I can to make sure they have not died in vain and that the truth is heard. "

Note, that he, as a Democrat spokesman does NOT pledge to WIN THE WAR, he just pledges to go whine, and whine, and whine, as if THAT would be sufficient so soldiers didn't die in vain.

As Mark Steyn said: "The cost of war is the cost of losing it measured against the cost of winning it".

Obviously Democrats would like us to pull all our troops out of Iraq right now, and let the extreme Muslim terrorists take over Iraq and be emboldened that they could defeat the US, let them kill many thousands of Americans and other "infidels", because they see Islamic domination of the world as within striking distance.

This Dem weekly radio address IS PROOF POSITIVE that the Dems want to cut and run and roll over for the terrorists or in front of any enemy, instead of standing firm. Dems rather see thousands more US civilian casualties on our own soil, than taking the fight to the enemy.

Wow, he must watch a lot of news to be "continuously" reminded (on May 1st) of our 130 deaths in Iraq in April.

I wonder what he'd say if the same news outlets continuously scrolled the 3,000+ highway deaths that the U.S. suffered in April (ooops, that wouldn't advance his anti-America, anti-Bush agenda now would it)?!

Appeasers, cranks, traitors, whiners, cowards, psychos, and the sadly deluded...That's who make up the contemporary Democrat Party. Vote for them at your peril.

This is a totally different slant from his previous opinion on the war, http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1127741/posts . I've no reason to doubt that there is some truth to his complaints, but being out of context they constitute a political attack. The implication is that his party, the Dems, could have done better at this war and the war on terrorism in general. What an immense pipe dream that is.

After reading this guy's previous, positive, war statement, I'm disappointed. But as these things go, I'm not surprised.

Exactly.

"The number of U.S. traffic deaths rose nearly 1 percent in 2003 and reached a 13-year high at 43,220, the government reported on Wednesday."

And in perspective, we WON TWO WARS, got rid of the evil regimes in TWO countries, losing around 1000 US soldiers.

Freedom is not free, but our capabilities allowed us to wage war with minimum casualties.

The questions to ask the Democrats is how many more US casualties and deaths would we have suffered, if we hadn't had our advanced weapons systems, if Kerry had his way and had them canceled?

Democrat response has nothing to do with Nightline last night[Sarcasm turned on ]. The major networks continue to work hand in hand with the DNC. It is so transparent that it is becoming laughable

I am seeing more of that sort of thing. Locally, a military wife from Tinker AFB stated that many she knew wanted the U.S. to just bring the troops home--NOW. I didn't expect that from a military wife, but there it was. Have so many people already forgotten what happened September 11, 2001? And what could happen again, if we let our guard down?

" My question for President Bush — who led the planning of this war so long ago — is this:

When will you take responsibility for the decisions you've made in Iraq and realize that something is wrong with the way things are going?"

The nasty tone and total disrespect for his CiC made me almost fall out of my chair. I assume this fellow has left the service, although CNN made it seem as if he was active duty.

The pattern is clear-the Kerry campaign has recruited disgruntled former military to be their surrogates in attacking the President.
CNN had some ex Marine on from NJ, who is running for office. I don't know how long ago he served, but, the impression CNN wanted to convey was that he had just left Iraq.
He trashed the President and spouted Kerry talking points.

This was part of the CNN piece, that " the military vote is abandoning President Bush and going to Kerry."

Kerry is going to Walter Reed today for a photo op.The President slips over from time to time, without cameras.

I've noticed a deliberate shift in the Democrat's game-plan as they have now made the lack of proper equipment a headline issue. With Kerry's Missouri speech yesterday...and the Democrat response to Bush's radio address this morning, they are going after the unpreparedness/plans for this war.

I got a frantic call from my mother this morning after she heard this National Guardsman's speech about how they were ill-equipped to deal with this war...including a significant shortness of armor. While I pointed out that it was Clinton who practically cut our Army divisions in half...and congress (Kerry) who has continually voted down appropriations for the military, she was still moved by the NG'man's speech, who also talked about the family's that were being broken apart over this war.

I wonder if some of you more familiar with these issues wouldn't mind adding some perspective to this man's opinion. My mother, after hearing this, didn't think Bush's relection chances were too good.

Is this guy still in the National Guard? If so, doesn't he have an obligation not to criticize the CIC? Dims were all up in arms when the military rightly showed contempt for Clinton.

Before 911, I really didn't pay much attention to politics or how it all works. After 911, I've become a news junky like most of you, and it's been quite a ride. Reading, watching, listening... to what the actual people involved are saying. I'm absolutely blown away at the contempt and hatred that so many in the Democratic party have toward the US in general and President Bush specifically. Someone else has said it before... vote for Dems knowing it's completely AT YOUR OWN PERIL!!!

This guys a phony-- that he could join the side of the people who have been carping, voting against money for troops and constantly raising the specter of Vietnam is just staggeringly bizarre. What is his real agenda?

He is on FoxNews right now.

He said he met with Kerry prior to his radio address -- you can figure out the rest.

He also came across as an obnoxious know-it-all.

There has never been a time that a unhappy troop could not be found. The only difference from this instance and pre-Vietnam Wars, is that lending comfort to the enemy was treated as the treason that it is.

A brand new John F. Kerry was given birth to this morning on a thread titled Democrat (democratic is a lie) Radio Address, expelled from the wishy washy womb of the war is a threat to our enemies, wackos of the left.

Democrats can't see past the next election, and are still feasting upon the bile of losing the 2000 election by so few dead people votes, that would never have happened if they had dug up a few more before tapping the keg and starting the victory celebration, that they are beside themselves. If they can't gain control of the ship of state, they'll just sink it.

Democrats aren't born-they are made- from recycled flushings, pumped out of septic tanks.
