"Fox News Sunday's" Chris Wallace announced Friday that he's planning to respond to ABC "Nightline" host Ted Koppel's decision to air photos and names of GI's Killed in Iraq, calling Koppel's broadcast "a stunt."
"I think it is such a stunt," Wallace told WRKO-Boston radio host Howie Carr.
"I will just say one thing to all of your listeners," he added. "Watch 'Fox News Sunday' this Sunday because we are going to have our response to Koppel and 'Nightline.'"
Wallace refused to be more specific about his plans for Sunday's show, but told Carr his response would be "a corrective."
"It's not a stunt, it's a corrective. It's what Fox News was invented to be, which is, we're different than the other guys and we're going to give you the other side of the story."
Pressed by Carr, Wallace elaborated just a bit. "We have an announcement we're going to make about Mr. Koppel and 'Nightline' and their show - and our response to it."
Asked if he was "declaring war on Ted Koppel on Sunday morning," Wallace told Carr, "You'll see. Some people may think it's that. . . It's going to make some news."

Ever notice how the leftist fascist new media live in cities surrounded by other leftists? Because if they lived in Texas, they wouldn't make it to their limo before one of us walked up to them and kicked their a$$.
"HELLO, TEXAS!"
Yes, they do seem to huddle a lot. Whatever happened to making the Gulf Coast the "Third Coast?" Lots of movies were being made here for awhile, then the idea of "Third Coast" seemed to just fade away. Wouldn't it be great to have something like FoxNews coming out of Texas...up against Brokaw, Jennings & Rather?

".what about our troops STILL in Bosnia after Clinton declared VICTORY in HIS war??"
So glad somebody mentioned this.
It's as though Bosnia fell down the Memory Hole. Speaking of quagmires, or, rather NOT speaking of quagmires. . .Why does no one mention this tar baby that BJ Clinton left us?

It's what Fox News was invented to be, which is, we're different than the other guys and we're going to give you the other side of the story." All of us here have long felt that if "the other side of the story" was fully told, Liberals would have to take up permanent hiding, as their failures and treason could not stand the full light of day. Unfortunately, we have yet to see that "full light". Stories are still untold and 24/7 bias is still playing.
Part of the problem is that Bush won't use his "bully pulpit" to bring out the full story when he is responding to critics. Part of it is also that even FOX plays tag-along by not getting out in front of the mainline stories with really critical insight, such as on the various Gorelick memos, hammering continually on Senate Democrats' "Memogate", by showng the many times WJC, eGore, Hillary and Kerry et. al. expressed support for stopping Saddam and how their flipflopping (all of them) on that issue ammounts to politicizing the war. And it's not patriotism when one's support for war shifts depending on who gets credit for its success.
Perhaps tonight's FOX program will be a big step in that direction. Noting the statement by the Sinclair Network when they announced Thursday they were pre-empting Koppel:
Before you judge our decision, however, we would ask that you first question Mr. Koppel as to why he chose to read the names of the 523 troops killed in combat in Iraq, rather than the names of the thousands of private citizens killed in terrorists attacks since and including the events of September 11, 2001. In his answer, you will find the real motivation behind his action scheduled for this Friday.
Maybe there are some early memos giving the rationale for the show, before it became common knowledge, that has things Koppel won't admit to now. That are more honest as to his reasons for not including the Afganistan casualties, or the parallel's he's hoping to resurrect to how media bias destroyed our hopes and opportunities in Vietnam (as well as a sitting, duly elected President).
Even so, it would be nice if they had more. Such as maybe Koppel's name is on the list of those who benefited from the UN Oil for Food program. Reports say there were "American journalists" who got payoffs. To find Koppel on such lists may be asking too much, but just listing the names of those who are would be a good start on a blockbuster expose. A new "pack of weasels" with names and amounts of money received. Now that would truly be the sort of story FOX was born to tell.
Since the media likes to make themselves the story, and apparently has been willing to take money and other favors from the likes of Saddam and Annan (has a conjugal ring to it, nez pas?), give them their wish. Maybe Osama Mama and Baghdad Jim are on the list as well. Now you're talkin.

Fox news will reply next week. Chris Wallace said they will be presenting the good things that are happening in Iraq.
That'll shock most of the viewing public. Most haven't heard any of it.

McCain was a fairly solid conservative before he became a lens louse.
He got a huge taste of face time when he was running against Bush. The prestitutes played it up big time because they wanted Bush to loose. McCain would have gotten trashed like toilet paper if he one the primary. Should have taken a lesson from Jeffords.
Anyway, Johnny boy was addicted to the attention. The only way he can get is required fix of adulation by the press is to slam Conservatives.
As far as I'm concerned despite his valliant behavior in Vietnam he has succumbed to the evil of vanity and is a Judas.
