Fox News Sunday Plans Response to Nightline 'Stunt'

"Fox News Sunday's" Chris Wallace announced Friday that he's planning to respond to ABC "Nightline" host Ted Koppel's decision to air photos and names of GI's Killed in Iraq, calling Koppel's broadcast "a stunt."

"I think it is such a stunt," Wallace told WRKO-Boston radio host Howie Carr.

"I will just say one thing to all of your listeners," he added. "Watch 'Fox News Sunday' this Sunday because we are going to have our response to Koppel and 'Nightline.'"

Wallace refused to be more specific about his plans for Sunday's show, but told Carr his response would be "a corrective."

"It's not a stunt, it's a corrective. It's what Fox News was invented to be, which is, we're different than the other guys and we're going to give you the other side of the story."

Pressed by Carr, Wallace elaborated just a bit. "We have an announcement we're going to make about Mr. Koppel and 'Nightline' and their show - and our response to it."

Asked if he was "declaring war on Ted Koppel on Sunday morning," Wallace told Carr, "You'll see. Some people may think it's that. . . It's going to make some news."

Why can't we see the pics of the US army troopers in Jessica Lych's unit who were executed by the Iraqis?

Hell, I'd like to hear the media actually acknowledge that they were executed. After all, it was what happened. I guess they had to gloss over that fact as quickly as possible to avoid offending peace loving muslims.

The terrorist "abuse" photos that everyone's up in arms about right now will end up having a much longer shelf life than the photos of Lynch's comrades with their pants pulled down and their brains blown out.

I share your defiance of Koppel's Leftist assault, using the corpses of our military dead to try to weaken this country's resolve in fighting the war declared by Osama bin Laden. Koppel may want to side with bin Laden, but we can heap scorn on Koppel for his treachery.

What Koppel did was to exploit the fallen heros in order to undermine the very cause for which they died. Koppel has acknowledged that his inspiration for this stunt was a similar Life Magazine piece which has been credited for playing a large role in turning public opinion against the Vietnam war.

The fact that Lefty Koppel did not include the names of those who fell in the Afghanistan Theater is proof of his intent, which is to turn public sentiment against the Iraq War, NOT to honor our brave fallen warriors. ABC has dishonored these brave souls for it's own despicable agenda. Shame on them.

I find it remarkable the libs haven't picked up on it. Their lame attempts to put forward people like Franken and Garoffolo are just pitiful. They fail to comprehend that our humor is spontaneous (thanks Freepers!). Go read a liberal website and humor is the last thing you'll find. They just don't get it.

IMHO, humor is an underestimated and powerful weapon we have in dealing with the libs. It's certainly a huge reason for Rush's popularity. Heck, I still crack up watching old recordings of his TV show (yes, I VCR'd many of them), especially Ted Kennedy's mumble speech introducing Clinton at a 1996 rally.

The Bush administration needs to release proof that terrorists did blow up the Fed Bldg in OK & did blow up TWA 800. They have the info and its high time that the truth be told, period!
