Fox News Sunday Plans Response to Nightline 'Stunt'

"Fox News Sunday's" Chris Wallace announced Friday that he's planning to respond to ABC "Nightline" host Ted Koppel's decision to air photos and names of GI's Killed in Iraq, calling Koppel's broadcast "a stunt."

"I think it is such a stunt," Wallace told WRKO-Boston radio host Howie Carr.

"I will just say one thing to all of your listeners," he added. "Watch 'Fox News Sunday' this Sunday because we are going to have our response to Koppel and 'Nightline.'"

Wallace refused to be more specific about his plans for Sunday's show, but told Carr his response would be "a corrective."

"It's not a stunt, it's a corrective. It's what Fox News was invented to be, which is, we're different than the other guys and we're going to give you the other side of the story."

Pressed by Carr, Wallace elaborated just a bit. "We have an announcement we're going to make about Mr. Koppel and 'Nightline' and their show - and our response to it."

Asked if he was "declaring war on Ted Koppel on Sunday morning," Wallace told Carr, "You'll see. Some people may think it's that. . . It's going to make some news."

"I can't wait to see what Wallace has on Koppel."

LOL! Me either!

Speaking of "can't wait", how's that scanning going on those BIL pics? ;)

They'll add the Afghan casualties, which Koppel intentionally edited out because their inclusion would have made Ted's POLITICAL point less sharp.

We saw a little of it in the Bush 2000 campaign.

My favorite....the twinkle in Barbara Bush's eyes as ahe walked across the stage to Devil with a Blue Dress.

Your point about humor reminds me of why I don't like Fox News Sunday as much as I did with Tony Snow. I miss his humor and the twinkle in his eyes. I used to get such a chuckle from his music choices.

I have seen this done in educational facilities, companies, and in the military.

I'm curious, what is this exactly? I know your answer won't necessarily be what Wallace will do but I'm clueless about this "corrective" term in educational, companies and military settings.

All day Thursday I believed the "Vietnam" crapola from the trolls and disrupters and Teddy the Gin Soaked Turd's speech claiming Iraq IS President Bush's Vietnam was coordinated. Koppel's despicable use of our dead for political gain just proves it.

I HOPE his name is on the list of so-called "journalists" paid off by Saddam in the UN blood money for oil scam.

The best was "Ain't No Way to Treat a Lady" during XXX-42's troubles.

I think they may show a detailed list of the successes, lives saved, terrorist attacks avoided, and how the world is safer and better because of their sacrifice.

Go read a liberal website and humor is the last thing you'll find. They just don't get it.

Good point--that is very true. The lack of humor on the Demo/Socialist websites is reveals much about their personalities.

That list was intense. This needs to be circulated to all of those who have forgotten what were fighting for.

May God rest all of their souls.

I think they should read the names of people who no longer watch ABC.

Donald J. DiFranco, 43, New York, N.Y.

He was one of thousands, but he was my good friend.

My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of all those who lost their lives on 9/11 and in the War on Terror. We should honor those who are are still with us, fighting to protect our Free Republic, the United States of America.

All Koppel did on Friday night was put faces to the statistics.

What Koppel did was to exploit the fallen heros in order to undermine the very cause for which they died. Koppel has acknowledged that his inspiration for this stunt was a similar Life Magazine piece which has been credited for playing a large role in turning public opinion against the Vietnam war.

You may be onto something.....

Claim that Baghdad has list of oil-for-food cash bribes

Excerpt:
An Iraqi official said today there was a list of cash bribes made by Saddam Hussein's government to journalists, politicians and groups in connection with the US$67 billion ($108.92 billion) UN-run oil-for-food programme.

He is the real deal.

Brit is indeed the real deal. He has been one of my favorite reporters in Washington DC ever since he took on Clinton in 1993 or 1994 and Clinton got real testy with him for a question he asked he asked the President.

Several days later Clinton apologized at another news conference and used the excuse that he was jealous of Brit because he had just gotten married and had a honeymoon.

As a side note, judging by the person Clinton is married to, I would be jealous of just about anyone who was in Brit's positions at that time.

When you think about it the Democrats ruled in the Congress for a long time before Republicans made a comeback.
The Republcans currently hold a MAJORITY in congress, ruling it different story all together. When presidential judicial appointments are approved, then my opinion will change.
