PLO: US will pay if Israel kills Arafat
Jerusalem Post ^ | Apr. 30, 2004 | JPOST.COM STAFF

Posted on 04/30/2004 8:17:31 AM PDT by yonif

The PLO's representative in Lebanon has warned the US that America will pay dearly if Israel were to assassinate PA Chairman Yasser Arafat.

America's interests would be in danger all over the world, Sultan Abu Einen said Friday.

"All our people all over the world will turn into time bombs if this thing happens," Einen said at a rally in the al-Rashidiya refugee camp in southern Lebanon.

About 10, 000 people took part in the rally, Israel Radio reported.

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said last week he had freed himself of a pledge he had made to US President George W. Bush to not harm the Palestinian leader.

Israel is keeping Arafat holed-up in his Ramallah compound, and accuses the PA Chairman of starting and maintaining a terror war.

One can only just imagine the horrors the US would experience if our interests all over the world would be in danger.

No, we wouldn't want to place ourselves in a situation such as that now would we?

Lets just leave the ME and come home, that way we will never have a problem with terrorism ever again.

Wow, a moron from Lebanon thinks he can scare us? I HATE Yasser Arafat and he definitely sent terrorists to attack us in Iraq. If I were Bush, I would KILL Arafat myself. In fact, if I could, I will kill that old towel-head myself!

If the PLO orchistrated attacks against us, we'd be more likely to lend FULL support to Israel, allowing it to pull out all stops

Really?

Here is just one example of PLO terror against Americans (which has killed over 80 Americans since 1967)

ARAFAT APPROVED ATTACK ON U.S. CONVOY (3 Americans were murdered)

Bush tells Sharon that US opposes any harm coming to Arafat

It could be more difficult to root out the PLO

The PLO is right in Israel's backyard. But the US has a safety net over it and does not view it as a terrorist entity, continuing to allow its offices to remain open in DC, and continuing to send it hundreds of millions of dollars each year. Israel cannot get rid of the PLO, because it is a partner to the US-backed roadmap to "peace."

No problem with that, I guess. I can't imagine THIS check would not be cleared ! lol.

Thinking about it, bouncing checks must not really happen to professionnal killers, I suppose.

We can achieve it if and only if we have the will and the resolve to deal with these problems now instead of ignoring them.

Sadly enough, however our resolve must filter through a political system before it can be beneficial, and after seeing what politics has done to the final product of our resolve in an election year, one would almost experience a state of shock to see any resolve backed action making it through the "political" fervor.

Political momentum, whether domestic or international, rarely swings towards action except in extreme instances. I am of the opinion that with multiple attacks ordered by the PLO on American interests throughout the world will swing popular opinion towards favoring support of Israel. An attack here in the US would certainly pull all gloves off.

Attacks before 9/11, unfortunately, are for some reason irrelevant to the average American. We had different mindsets back then. A single attack against a single target costing three American lives, while sad, is not going to turn popular opinion against the PLO either. Multiple, constant attacks, however, will stir Americans against these groups. It is easy to believe that the average American has lost sight of 9/11. The liberal media excels at making us believe that liberals dominate society and that they don't care. This simply isn't true.

As for Bush's statements opposing harm to Arafat, I am under the belief that such is purely geopolitical. Despite past PLO attacks on US interests, we have no current casus belli to oppose them on the world stage. Multiple attacks against us will create a situation where it will be prudent geopolitically to support Israel exclusively in that situation. When that happens, and we are fully able to support Israel, it will be able to act against the PLO in ways that were before unimaginable.

It will also become politically expedient to deep six the "roadmap" if such actions were taken. But, expediency depends on us and our willingness to spread the news about the attacks and grant our support to retaliation! We are starting to reach a point in this country where traditionally silent majorities can no longer afford to allow the more vocally radical among us to speak in our names. That is what is necessary for survival. If we speak up, both for our protection and the protection of Americans abroad, America will have to act and no country in the world will be able to tell us "no".

I believe that Gaza and the West Bank would be excellent locations to test low yield neutron bombs.

So Israelis will have to keep getting murdered, until the PLO finally constantly attacks America so that America can give Israel approval to destroy it.

Also, most people in the US are against the PLO and the creation of an Arab state in Israel.

So Israelis will have to keep getting murdered, until the PLO finally constantly attacks America so that America can give Israel approval to destroy it.

Sadly, that seems to be the case. The reason for that is that those of us who support Israel do not tend to be very vocal. I remember the 4/20 pro-Palestinian rally in Washington a couple of years ago, but I fail to recall a major pro-Israel rally, or vocal calls for support of Israel. American leaders are only going to act in support of that which they believe aids them politically. They know that the left is vocal and will ride their tails until the left gets what it wants. The same can't really be said of us on the right. We speak, we complain, but we don't organize and speak in mass.

As far as a casus belli goes, that tends to be something you gain as a result of a personally damaging action. With a casus belli, we don't seem quite as much the "bad guys" in the rest of the world for acting in our own defense. I hate to see anyone in Israel getting murdered - no nation should have to deal with that. The sad fact is that Israel has no pull geopolitically. Their enemies, on the otherhand, do: they control a large part of the world oil resources. Other nations, including the US, are more worried of upsetting the other nations in the region than upsetting Israel.

That does not need to be the case in the US. In Europe, people are very indoctrinated towards the left, and those with conservative leanings are bullied into silence. In this country, I believe the average American leans towards the right. The more vocally we support Israel, the more it becomes necessary for politicans to accept this if they want to keep their elected status.

Other nations ARE worried about upsetting us. We have considerable leverage throughout the world outside of military force. If we fall in support of Israel, the rest of the world can be pushed into support as well. Such "pushing" need not involve military force - Europe will scream "mercy" even if we threaten more harshly to withdraw our troops from their nations.

There is a lot we can do, but the impetus is on us as Americans to make our voices heard.

The problem with terrorists, is they believe the citizens of the United States of America are weaklings, that they are unable and unwilling to protect themselves.

Wonder if they've heard the term "every dog has it's day".
