PLO: US will pay if Israel kills Arafat
Jerusalem Post ^ | Apr. 30, 2004 | JPOST.COM STAFF

The PLO's representative in Lebanon has warned the US that America will pay dearly if Israel were to assassinate PA Chairman Yasser Arafat.

America's interests would be in danger all over the world, Sultan Abu Einen said Friday.

"All our people all over the world will turn into time bombs if this thing happens," Einen said at a rally in the al-Rashidiya refugee camp in southern Lebanon.

About 10, 000 people took part in the rally, Israel Radio reported.

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said last week he had freed himself of a pledge he had made to US President George W. Bush to not harm the Palestinian leader.

Israel is keeping Arafat holed-up in his Ramallah compound, and accuses the PA Chairman of starting and maintaining a terror war.

US will pay if Israel kills Arafat

That scare tactic seems to work too often these days.

It is a reference to an episode of "Seinfeld."

He was a character in Seinfeld (based upon an actual guy who runs a soup restaurant in Manhattan) who made wonderful soup but expected people to stand in line orderly and follow very specific rules. If you broke the rules, when you finally reached him, he would say, "NO SOUP FOR YOU!" and refuse service.

The real restaurant is called Soup Kitchen International (if I remember correctly) and I've been wanting to try it for a while now.

It's from a character in the Seinfeld television show.

He makes the best soup around, but is very strict about how you act when ordering some soup. If you do something he doesn't like, he'll holler "No soup for you!", and go on to serve the next customer in line.

We will pay dearly, but I'm curious: how much did we promise to pay?

Fine. Using this logic, then the PLO will pay if another Iraqi takes a U.S. soldier's life.

Neutron bomb...

Imagine for a moment if you will at what this would do to the Muslim extremists worldwide if we ever did such a thing.

Not only would they recognize our power, but our willingness to use it.

Dismissing these type of threats has led us to where we are today. We have become as Osama Bin Laden says - a "paper tiger".

We are constantly on the defensive just waiting for some terrorist or crazy to set loose a bomb or much worse in one of our cities.

Imagine for a moment if you will how the world would be if the terrorists and those who wish us harm were always on the defensive.

Why must my family be afraid?

Peace in our lifetime. We can achieve it if and only if we have the will and the resolve to deal with these problems now instead of ignoring them.

The PLO doubts it, and Al-Queda doubted it as well.

The American people don't seem to understand the fact that the war against terrorists is a campaign, but they do understand the importance of striking back. That is why we were able to go to Afghanistan so easily. If the PLO orchistrated attacks against us, we'd be more likely to lend FULL support to Israel, allowing it to pull out all stops. We could also use our position to aggressively bargain with European nations that would otherwise bitch and moan about such an action. It is my opinion that Israel has the capability to be doing much more than it currently is, but simply does not have the geopolitical "pull" to do so. They haven't been able to touch them because the left throughout the world is convinced that their organization has some sort of "legitimacy".

Of course, I could be wrong. It could be more difficult to root out the PLO. But, then again, we had all sorts of people telling us it was impossible to do so with Al-Queda. We proved them wrong.

Remember the German deli-store owner on the TV show, 'Seinfeld'?

"No zoup fer yuoooo!" was his famous line; only saw it a few times, but it got a laugh from me.

You speak the truth. Fear is killing us -- fear of "creating millions of more bin Ladens" and fear of the leftist pukes in the media, to be specific. But what we should be afraid of is encouraging our enemies by our unwillingness to completely annihilate them. What we (naively) hope will "win hearts and minds" will actually have the exact opposite effect.
