Need to ask....is there anything we and do to dissolve this "9-11 Commission" ?

I've read and heard enough to convince me that the so called "9-11 Commission" is nothing more then a parallel of the middle man trying to get some attention and turn that into a book (or something else) for profit. This commission is not going to give us any more info then that of which the average American citizen has already concluded! The commission is corrupt and might as well bury there head in a spot next to the UN "Oil for Food Commission". I appreciate our leaders trying to cooperate and I'm sure they at times feel embarrassed for our "Fellow Americans"...enough is enough...does anyone have a suggestions on how we can organize... from a legal standpoint.. and stop this tax payer waste?

Dissolve it..?
The Commissioners can't even be bothered to stick around for testimony.

They are doing a fine job in destroying the commission on their own.

I dont want to stop the investigation. I want this Gorelick woman exposed for what she is. For a relative unknown she was one of the most important people in that administration.

Important investigations of Clinton scandals were stopped dead by her "wall" let alone the 9/11 attacks.

As I wrote to them, they have done nothing but contribute to the ever-growing cynicism many Americans have about Washington and its politics. They cannot recover and their final product is forever tainted by their immaturity and failure. They are in fact a case study of the politics and ambitions that are most responsible for leaving us vulnerable and virtually unaware of the threats this country faced before September 11.

It will be over by August and long forgotten by Christmas. My advice is to ignore it because it's meaningless.

Dissolve?? I would like to "dissolve" all of them, but then I can't discuss that on this forum.

I remember seeing an Alfred Hitchcock TV show once upon a time, "long-long ago and far-far away." The gist of the show was that this older woman was murdered and "dissolved" in acid. Unfortunately, for the murderer, it was known that the old lady had gall stones and the gall stones survived the acid.

One must be very careful about this "dissolving" thing.

Really. What more do we need to know? After Watergate - the original - the wall was put up and throughout the years was strengthened - mostly by Democrats such as Gorelick - and it finally came back to bite us on the a$$. Bush and the Patriot Act tore down the wall. Now let's try not to let it happen again.

That's my whole point...let's stop wasting our money for their gain...we all know what the results are..."we've been caught with our pants down." Same thing happen in WWII. We pulled them up and kicked butt during the 40's. Thank God we have a President that's willing to do the same...we just need to get behind him and help...

The commission is there to stay in first class Washington hotels, eat at the best restaurants, do a little Wilbur mills (including gorelick) and get outta town. The TOTAL disrespect Hamilton and Kerry showed today is obscene.

As a practical matter, Congress created this commission, and Congress would have to shut it down. A move to do that before the report is written would cause the media to go ballistic with charges of a cover-up. Not only that, but the speed with which Congress moves guarantees that nothing can be done before August.

Sure, I agree that it is a waste of money, but there's nothing that can be done to stop it now.

Commission? HAH, that is laughable! This is nothing more than a free for the DNC campaign special with little or no equal time.

I'm disgusted, too.

My fantasy would be for this commission to have to divvy up the costs of this sham and reimburse us for it.

The problem with shutting down the commission is that THEN there would be non-stop fingerpointing "What didn't they want us to know? Obviously we were getting too close to an ugly truth" Stuff like that.

One thing to keep in mind- just as the libs are obsessed with VietNam, they're also obsessed with the Warren Commission. If only the Warren Commission had "done its job", then Vietnam might never have happened, or some such nonsense.

In the last 50 years, I don't recall one televised commission hearing or one court trial that did not devolve into an absolute media circus. They always become witch hunts.

6 months after they issue their report, they all become irrelevancies. It's just the way of the world.

How can we change this?

I'm really upset that our tax dollars are going towards this nonsense. How much has it cost us thus far?

I wish we had some sort of recourse. I know, I know.... I'm kind of obsessed with the cost of this sham. It's two weeks past April 15th tho and I feel like my husband and I are solely funding this joke.

You can't change the fact that there's a commission, but you might be able to change some people's perception of the commission. When you see some commission member grandstanding on a "news" show, you could blast off an email to the "news" people letting them know that you don't appreciate them being sycophantic hacks to a bunch of witch-hunting has-beens.

You might phrase it slightly more politely. But lately, I get the distinct impression that certain people are shocked and awed by the number of conservatives coming out of the closet.

Or you can pretend your specific tax dollars are going toward C-130's and yanking dictators out of spiderholes, and take up a nice relaxing hobby like gardening or stamp collecting.

We are also upset about the cost of this idiotic 9/11 Commission. What a bunch!!! If I were President Bush I would have said "I'll be glad to meet with the Commission, but I will not accept questions from Ms. Gorelick". And I really want to know what this Commission is going to accomplish in the end. We are not interested in a bunch of politicians looking for their 15 minutes of fame. The American people are looking for some intelligent answers as to how we can combat terrorism in the future. And this Commission has failed miserably at that task.

I'm sure they've had their "reccomendations" all written up for a very long time. It will probably closely mirror dnc plans for turning this country into a police state.

After discussions with others...I might be convinced that Bush is playing this out to expose the need to renew the Patriot Act...this commission has after all been focused on the "wall"...if this is the case...I’ll accept it and eat the fat that comes with it...and the more I think about it...the more I'm convinced that’s the ploy here....with a lot more hidden up his sleeve...could get interesting...I guess we should "stay tuned"...
