I am SO ANGRY at Rush Limbaugh right now!! In his last segment he really bashed and basically made fun of people who have Autism or Asperger's Syndrome. He apparently has not done " his homework" on this one.He read from a article, but I didn't hear who had written it. My granddaughter and husband both suffer from Aspergers. It has been a very difficult journey for our daughter and son in law. Rush will get LOTS of angry emails concerning this!!!

Even being right most of the time is no insurance against being a blowhard.

Thank you! My point(s) exactly!

It's all a bit like the Democrats, isn't it? Where there is a legitimate localized problem, the tactic is not to address it, but to spread the word that maybe far more people have it, in the interest of scaring out more dollars and votes. In the same way, ADHD, a serious problem, gets ridiculed because the overabundant diagnoses have become ridiculous. Or something like that.
To: sarasota
LOL! - Fine... You didn't hear it, you are taking someone else's opinion on whether you should be offended, and sending Rush angry email about having heard it. Go for it.

What we're sick of is everyone coming up with some syndrome or another to explain why they are the way they are, and then demand some federal subsidy for their "disability". We've got millions of perfectly healthy kids running around these days, doped up on drugs given to them by leftist shrinks. They are told from an early age that they'll never amount to anything because they're disabled, but this pill will make them feel better.
Enough.

. Saying the name of the syndrome over and over to make it sound like "a**-burger" That was IT!! He kept mocking Aspergers ...as I said , it was the tone in which he read the article that set me off!!!!
As was pointed out by another poster, the article he was reading had a reference to it as Ass Burgers!
Rush was commenting on the damn article! People need to lighten up.

"What do you like to listen to?"
Actually, I rarely have commercial radio on. In my office, I have a scanner for the police, sheriff, and other frequencies. It's a good background for me while I work. At home, I tend to read, rather than let the box entertain me, except for a few programs I watch regularly.

And to you. A few parenting skills come to play - patience, and in great measure.
The Boy refers to the dose as, "the smart pill". He's a bright kid, with a sense of humor, but he knows that he has the edge over his classmates with its help.

I don't listen to him then, either. Do you?

never had a kid with true ADHD, I take it? Usually those who yell that the " parents need to get a handle on situations" havent a clue and would be the first to run to a Dr. or scream " HELP" if they were faced with a ADHD child, or worse yet, abuse the child.!!

Rush doesn't know anything about Asberger's. If he did, he would not be making fun of it. Just like people who see something different and make fun of it. His ignorance is showing. BTW I think Al Gore has mild asbergers.

I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia when I was 18. My father was convinced there was something wrong with me because I was always so tired when I should not be. He worked at a hospital, and the lab did the all day blood sugar test on me, and I must've been very low blood sugared because one of the docs came to me and spoke to me as if I had a very, very serious condition. I went home and told my mother, and she went out and bought a whole bunch of fresh fruit that she then poured sugar all over. She believes hypoglycemia is a phony condition. I was so devastated that she cared so little about my health. She always pooh-poohed medical conditions that were not convenient.

No, you're brother-in-law isn't a lazy bastard. He is disabled, and deserves our sympathy, understanding, and tax dollars.
Being lazy is a disease, I tell you!
