Worsening woes for new liberal radio network
First Air America had trouble staying on the air in Los Angeles and Chicago, and now its having trouble keeping its bosses, including one of the founders of the liberal radio network. With the Los Angeles and Chicago situations still up in the air, CEO and co-founder Mark Walsh and director of programming David Logan are jumping ship. Logan will be replaced by Lizz Winstead, a former producer for Comedy Central and current on-air personality with Air America. So far there has been no replacement named for Walsh..
Air Americas general counsel David Goodfriend remains optimistic and says new affiliates will come next month and that the network has attracted the advertisers Shell Oil, Hewlett-Packard and ABC TV.

Air America is in the pockets of big oil? Sounds like blood money.

You can't run a Mickey Mouse operation without Disney.

Do these companies advertize with any other talk radio programs? If the answer is 'yes'; then things are fine and normal. If the answer is 'no', then perhaps they should hear from the public. IMHO, ErrAmerika cannot survive with this dismal amount of advertizing. Talk radio has a LOT of commercial time, that's why is it so lucrative. How many ads about a printer can you play in an hour?

Talk radio has a LOT of commercial time Some shows yes, some no. Rush does not have a lot of commercial time. Especially when you consider that the top and bottom hour breaks are 1) required by the FCC for station identification. 2) stations do their local news, traffic, updates at those times. 3) Some commercials do run at that time, but not many
Actual commercial breaks during rush at at :20, :45, and :55. Thats 3 breaks in an hour out side of the top and bottom of the hour breaks required by the FCC.

Anybody want to buy a computer?
For sale, cheap, only two months old, only used on conservative news sites, will trade for common sense to be sent to named executives of the sponsors of Hot Air America.
Cheers!

When low rated radio stations have LOTS of untaken advertising time..they'll often sell it for really low, LOW rates....almost giving it away..indeed, sometimes they'll run the ads for free just to fill up the space, instead of running another public service message....On my cable system, there's an ad for an "ab" machine that runs incessantly, on allt he stations..I couldn't figure out how they could afford all those ads..then a friend who works in adverstising explained it to me...let's say that scheduled commercial time costs $1000 for a 30 second spot..where the advertiser picks the program and the particular time it runs...whereas the SAME commerical, if they allow the statio to run it whener it chooses, may cost only $50...but they commit to running it, say 10 times in a 24 hour period, but they're guaranteed one appearance every hour..Long story..it's a "charity" buy for a the companies running now on AA..

I have been waiting for some of the Democrat run companies to try and bail ErrAmerika out. While they probably don;t want to advertise on something with such a miniscule listener base, they also could not let Err just completely collapse in less than a month.
These and other Dem companies will try and prop ERR up for a few months, probably through the election -- then if the ratings aren;t there and ERR is still stinking up the airwaves like it is -- they'll pull the plug.

The parodies run in the spots "locals" have alloted to them for ads. The parody condom commercial is my favorite.

I went to upgrade the memory in my last HP computer and discovered that the memory slots were located underneath the power supply. That's right I had to remove the power supply from the case to upgrade to 128 MB of memory. Needless to say I've never even considered an HP (or any off the shelf) computer since.
