DOZENS DEAD IN THAILAND
Dozens of people have died in gunbattles between police and suspected Islamic militants in southern Thailand.
Latest reports say the death toll has risen to at least 93 in the worst day of violence in Thailand's Muslim-dominated south in recent months.
The clashes were sparked by groups of militants launching near simultaneous attacks on police bases and checkpoints in several districts of Yala and Pattini provinces.
State-run Radio Thailand said the militants had first tried to rob weapons from storehouses at the outposts.
Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra confirrmed: "The purpose of the raid was to steal weapons from government security forces which would then have been sold.
"The attackers had only machetes and a few guns."
He praised government forces which he said were well prepared for the attack.
The incident is the latest in a series of almost daily attacks by gunmen that have left a number of people dead this year. The government blames Islamic separatists.
Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat are the only Muslim majority provinces in predominantly Buddhist Thailand. Muslims have long complained of discrimination in jobs and education.

Those 'militant' Quakers!! 90% of all conflict going on in the world today is caused by Islam...and yet they get a pass by the media.
I've met nice muslims...but they never seem to be in power, now do they?

Muslims have long complained of discrimination in jobs and education. And such a shame! For as we all known Muslims are world famous for their passionate respect for education, hard work, thrift, honesty, stability and superior moral & work ethic.(sarcasm)

Anyone still doubt that this is the new Crusades? The difference is that it is not the Catholic Church, but Islam that is trying to force its will upon the rest of us. As the War on Terror escalates and crosses borders to include more and more extremist Muslim cells in countries around the world. It's only a matter of time before their cells in the US are activated.

I heard it said these folks invented "zero"?
How very apt, if true.
To: Fitzcarraldo
Zero and the algebra were actually invented by Indians. The Muslims transported the ideas over to the West, under their own label (like "Damascus" steel)

I'm one of 'um.

I heard it said these folks invented "zero"?My understanding is that it is documented that the Mayans developed (and used) the zero first. No other mathematical system developed and USED the zero prior to the Maya.

"Anyone still doubt that this is the new Crusades? It was not initiated by the Catholic Church ....

Would I want to work side by side with someone who's supposed to TAKE MY PROPERTY AND THEN KILL ME?
It's not discrimination - IT'S VIGILANCE.

The difference is that it is not the Catholic Church, but Islam that is trying to force its will upon the rest of us. Hmm...the last time I looked the Crusades were in responce to muslim hords wiping out whole communities of Christians. They were trying to stop the advancements of genocidal islam. But who knows history is being rewritten daily as not to offend the pc crowd.

Just goes to show you that even buddhist countries are under attack by militant islam in all its morphed forms. I hope the Thai totally destroy every last remnant of this 'insurgency' (as its been called from a politically correct viewpoint). Thailand should hopefully remain an ally on the war against terrorism (aka islam).

I wouldn't say it's a crusade. More like the thrashing of a cornered rat. Islam is dying. It cannot survive modernism and cannot survive in a secular world.
