Thanks for the clarification, but the point is he had the corruption charges hanging over his head. There is less to justify the Dems doing it this time. My bet is they will not replace him.

I don't put anything past the rats these days. I hope that the Bush team has enough of a election "War Chest" left when CFR comes into play. If Hillary steps in at the last minute, between that and talk radio, it's all we'll have to combat her "heinousness".

Lost in all of the Draft Hitlery thought, is that the Dems need Kerry to be close, but the Clinton's want him to lose. As long as Kerry is close in the polls, they have what they want. The Clinton's will want to step in, only if Bush melts down with bad news. The Dems will want a fill in only if Kerry is 'off the map' in polls, which at this time, he isn't.

Now, this business of "no new taxes" is bogus, and a lame attempt to explain away those votes, when you stop and think about it. Voting for Perot again in '96 ushered in the largest tax increase in this nations history, because protest voters allowed Bill Clinton four more yearsFirst of all, nothing about my posts is "lame" and secondly, I have thought about it. I was very close to the Perot campaign (we used them to great effect to help Nethercutt defeat Speaker Foley). And the main issue the Perot people had with GHW Bush was the fact that he allowed Sen. George Mitchell to force him to reverse his pledge not to raise taxes. The Iraq war was not even on their radar screen. At the center of their movement was issues over the nation's finances.
Regarding the "largest tax increase in this nation's history", I believe that occured in '93 during Clinton's first term.

Clinton/Edwards? Perhaps! But based on what I'm seeing on the NorthLeft Coast, the preferred Lefty ticket will be...
Nader/Kucinich

Hugh outlines the Torcelli option, and the Dems respond by gassing up the old windbag, wheel him up to a podium, and turn the crank. Like a player piano, Lautenburg plays any toon that's the Dems stuff into the slot in the back of his head...
Blah - blah - blah - lies, AWOL, quagmire. Replace one monkey with any other. It will still do the same dance...
...and crap on the audience at the end of the show. No one's buying that ticket.

... and while you're at it, can you get him to play more show tunes. There just aren't enough talk shows that focus on the brilliance of show tunes.
Public interest stories would be nice too. Everyone wants to hear a good dog rescue tale now and then... 'dog follows family around the world, shows up on Prague doorstep, 40 years later...' you know, that sort of thing.
I agree! Mark Larson does bring balance to the show... for a Dean, Kerry supporter, he is somewhat sane.... except when he posts the DU under the name SoCal Pubbie ranting about Halliburton and the Mars oil fields... that's just nuts.
And Hugh keeps pushing 'Peeps!' I mean what's that all about?... gooyey, sugarey, marshmallowey treats have no place on a series radio show.
Could you do that too?!

Disclaimer: I have
actually never seen SoCal post anything about Halliburton nor the Mars oil fields on the Democratic Underground.
Sorry Mark!

In the future, please attach a 'tinfoil required' tag when starting threads on this topic. I was unprepared and had to use my emergency tinfoil kit to keep from being fried. Thanking you in advance, FoM.

I believe Hillery is already looking at the odds of GW running Condi as his VP...and this would lock her out of the 2008 election if Condi comes up against her. For this reason, the switch of the candidates is more likely. Kerry will likely announce his cancer will prevent him from carrying the flag...just days before the democratic convention...this will invite tremendous coverage by the media which will pump up the entire nation...then suddenly as the convention opens...Hillery starts to make her run at the votes. Dean will stand there in total outrage...but there is nothing he can do about the situation. Hillery then starts her campaign against GW, with the hope of terrorist actions (similar to Spain) happening, thus throwing the nation against GW in Nov.
I think the scenario is actually possible.
To: RonDog
I'll take credit for being ahead of the curve on this one (at least I was ahead of Rush Limbaugh) but......I hope I'm wrong.
Kerry is proving to be a disaster for the demoRats. However, he has raised enough money that he should be able to isolate himself, and crush a potential "coup". If sucessful in "removing" Kerry, the demoRats might find themselves in a "pinch" for money. At least I hope so.....

"Will Dems dump Kerry?"
Just as soon as hillary gives the word.
She will give the word the second that the calendar reads less than 60 days before the election.
