$1000 dollar Haircut? Not By My Calculations
I did a little research. Then I went to an independent source to confirm that research. Here is what I found about the $1000 dollar haircut cost.
Corroborated by a phone call to Signature Flight Support in San Francisco [also located in DC], the Flying Squirrel [Gulfstream V] would consume approximately 660-700 Gallons [5500-5700 pounds] of Kerosene to fly from Washington DC to Pittsburgh.
Also Corroborated by Signature Flight Support was my calculated mileage including pattern approach and departure[300 nm x 2].
To fly a Gulfstream V to Pittsburgh, and back, from Reagan International would consume about 1300 gallons of JetA jet fuel, or approximately .46 miles per gallon.
Signature Flight Support indicated that Jet A kerosene is running around $2.00 per gallon. Not including crew costs, depreciation, applied maintenance, landing fees [fuel cost only], the fuel burn was $2600.00.
A Hummer could drive 13,000 miles [Nearly 4 times the distance between London and New York] on the same fuel load out.
When asked, Signature indicated that no way in the world could you round hop a Gulfstream V to Pittsburgh and back for $1000. Further, Signature indicated that to use a Gulfstream V for such a short hop was "not a very efficient use of resources", and "the jet could not reach its optimal cruise altitudes above 45,000 feet on such a short hop".
A phone call to NetJets revealed that the lease cost for such a hop, with no crew overnight would range around $15,000 dollars [includes, landing fees, fuel surcharges etc]
Kerrys Interview
Once Senator Kerry got to Pittsburgh he had these words regarding energy and oil:
SEN. KERRY: ..... As president, I'm going to move the United States of America towards energy independence. I'm going to set a goal, that by the year 2020, 20 percent of our electricity will be produced from alternative and renewable sources. We'll create 500,000 new jobs doing that, Tim. We can reduce our dependency on Middle East oil. I don't think any young American ought to ever be held hostage to America's dependency on oil in the Middle East. We deserve a president who wants to move America toward energy independence, clean energy, alternative energy. We'll be drilling gas and oil for years to come, but we can move in a new direction and I intend to do that.
John Kerry is all wrong for America

If Kerry has a private plane fly someone across America just to cut his hair, then Kerry has no standing on which to talk about energy policy or the environment. Well, that's two issues down. What's next? National security and defense. He has no standing there either because of his protesting and voting record. What's left? the economy and education? OK, we'll let him yap about that. (this is what our side should be doing - totally disqualifying Kerry to speak to these major issues)

Ummm, nice work and all, but lets not hammer Senator Kerry so hard that he doesn't survive to win the Dems' nomination at their Boston convention this Summer, eh! Well, there might be a better Democrat nominee. For the Republicans, that is ...

Will the real French Mousse please please stand down Kerry's Hair?

If Kerry has a private plane fly someone across America just to cut his hair, then Kerry has no standing on which to talk about energy policy or the environment.Well, sure he does. When he's yapping about conservation and all, you don't think he means him do you? He's one of the anointed, put on Earth to educate us serfs from the backseat of a Gulfstream or from one of his mansions.

From the earlier thread:
Cristophe stylist Isabelle Goetz, who handles Kerry's hair issues, made the trek to Pittsburgh, campaign sources reveal.
A 60 year old man with 'hair issues'??
Metrosexual indeed!! LOL

Maybe it's fake hair. That would explain why Kerry wouldn't let someone else get near it...

Well, it is an inordinately large head...

The costs of the crew & the pilots occured to me too on another thread. Also consider that the woman hairdresser had to cancel her other appointments of the day. That suggests to me she had to have been compensated for that fairly well.

She also does Hillary Clinton's hair.
I've seen her hair. I wouldn't think that would be a promotion plus. ;)

According to RUSH, a $42 million dollar plane cost in the neighborhood of $25k+/hour to operate.
That is one expensive hair management issue for someone, (Tereza), to pay!

That suggests to me she had to have been compensated for that fairly well. The concept of 'opportunity cost' is one lost on nearly every liberal. Next best use, and every use below it can be measured and expressed in terms of opportunity cost; best use [prefered use?]- actual use = opportunity cost
Moussegate [or Toupegate] requires and independent investigator.....to get to the bottom of this
We will never know what this "hairjob" cost...

She should tell her to wash it once in awhile. Hillary has the ugliest hair I've ever seen. I totally agree. While I don't think intrinsic personal appearance is something to be taunted, personal conduct and hygiene/care ARE worthy of comment. Kerry constantly sniffs at his fingers (gosh knows where they've been, LOL!), Hillary looks like she never washes, (same with Kucinich), Gore has developed the cadaver effect, x42 has that W.C. Fields thing going on, and Edwards has this "thing" hanging on his lip that probably could be removed with a "razor malfunction".

I'll just cut-and-paste what I posted on another thread just minutes ago:
I can't wait until we really get into this campaign and the focus turns to environmental issues.
Kerry and his wife use up as much energy as some city blocks - heating and cooling their five homes, fueling their SUVs, gassing up the 100' yacht, and the private jet. And how much pollution are they putting into the air and water with all that conspicuous consumption?
I'd love to see him defend THAT environmental record! If you want to see the face of the "evil rich", look at the baggy, basset hound face of John Kerry.

When asked if his hairdresser flew on Kerry's private jet, Kerry responded, "Ask Bush why he didn't serve in Vietnam. Ask Bush why we're in Iraq stealing their oil. Ask Bush why ... blah, blah, blah."
Yeah, but about that haircut, Senator...

Make no mistake - the haircut is an expense to be written off in the course of a campaign. The donors pay for this kind of thing.

Kerry and his wife use up as much energy as some city blocks But the big question is
Does John help Teresa to follow Streisand's advice to hang their wet laundry on their clotheslines?
I'm sure John helps Teresa around the house, since he is so supportive of women.
