[history]
April 27, 2004 -- THE conventional wisdom is that the presidential election will be close. It's a 50-50 country, so the CW goes, just as it was in the year 2000.
Kerry is a terrible, terrible, terrible candidate.
It's not so much the policies he proposes, although they don't add up to all that much. The problem is Kerry himself. He no sooner opens his mouth than he sticks first one foot and then the other right in there.

If Kerry drops below 40% in the Polls, they will find a way to dump him Have to agree. They will pull a Toricelli and put in Edwards. So if you are reading this post and if a pollster calls you, please say you are for Kerry or are undecided if you are too honest to lie.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I wouldn't be even a little surprised to see the Dims pull a coup d'tat (seemed appropriate to use a french word) at the convension in June. Kerry is starting to implode and unfortunately he is doing it too soon.

To replace Kerry you need Kerry to find a way to get out, old war wounds, whatever, and release his delegates. If he balks it'll be a mess in July. It'll be better for Hillary to have the 'rats sink this year.
All the easier for her and her minions to ride in and take over the the 'rat party.

He'd run over his mother to continue now. Yes but, bless his heart, he'll have to borrow a car.
I think he could borrow his wife's Cheverlot Suburban.

Kerry is a terrible, terrible, terrible candidate. Yep, what I said. He comes accross angry, like he knows he's getting beat already.

Yes- don't collapse too soon Botox Johnnie. Hitlery may jump in.

This Kerry just has to hang in there until after the Democrat convention. I have a sick feeling the Democrats may decide to "Torch" him before then.
To: kattracks
One could think this is an inside attack by the clintoons so they can make kerry look more stupid and then step into the nomination this summer. They are that evil!

the pubies don't have anybody obvious for '08. That'll be her shot. Rudy Guiliani, Colin Powell, Bill Frist to name a few.

They can't be that sinister to plan this from the gate, can they?Whatever it is, it's been planned for decades.

I wouldn't be even a little surprised to see the Dims pull a coup d'tat They already tried it in FL in 2000. If they are willing to do that, they are willing to dump Kerry.
To: staytrue
And if they do dump Kerry at the convension, then it is legal this time....well, at least as far as I can tell. The only thing they would be doing is bending their own party's rules and since they don't have a problem violating federal law, I dont see that being a problem to them.

I have also noticed recently that those the Kerry team send out to do the news programs and ramble off the Kerrytalkingpoints seem to be as rude and disrespectful as Kerry does in interviews. I'm amazed at just how rude Kerry comes off every time he speaks. You'd think that the guy would keep it in check, knowing he's on film. Apparently, John Kerry IS a rude and arrogant man, and he just can't help himself. We all know he's a terrible liar, but he can't even come across as likeable, even for a few moments. At the very least, Clinton was an "aw shucks" kind of guy - and the public was willing to give him a pass due to his "appeal". This man however, is just plain nasty. I can't imagine him appealing to anyone.

I'm wondering if Edwards would step up to the plate at convention time. Even if he lost the election, he'd have that run under his belt for 08

The Democrat faithful have to be feeling like GOP regulars did in 1996 with Bob Dole on the ticket - stuck with a loser. Hating Clinton wasn't nearly enough to pull off the win that election, and hating Bush won't turn the trick for the RATS in '04. At some point, Kerry is going to have to move to the middle to grab indies. The left is so radicalized and consumed with Bush hate right now, any such move is bound to cause mutiny. I predict a 6-8% showing by Nader, and an electoral college blowout.
To: ought-six
It is a quiet collapse because whenever he opens his mouth it turns into a loud, pouty, precipitous collapse that conures up the following cultural reference:
Prince Kerry demands ... a shrubbery!

I bet he only threw over his Bronze Star and Silver Star, but kept his Purple Hearts. That's why Secretery Lehman's signature is on his Bronze and Silver Star commendations.

Like it or not, you have to admit that Bush got very lucky with his opponents. Kerry is perhaps the worst candidate we'll ever see in our lifetime.
