Woman Accused Of Hitting SUV 12 Times On Highway Wright Pleads Not Guilty To Charges
POSTED: 4:29 p.m. EDT April 26, 2004 UPDATED: 5:47 p.m. EDT April 26, 2004
BOSTON -- A Sandwich, Mass., woman faced charges in a courtroom Monday stemming from an alleged case of road rage.
NewsCenter 5's Jorge Quiroga reported that police say Jennifer Wright, a 28-year-old University of Massachusetts at Boston art student, slammed her red station wagon into a sport utility vehicle 12 times on Interstate 93 north in Milton Friday.
"There was an off-duty Brockton police officer who witnessed the other operator cut her off and then apparently the incident revolved around that," said defense attorney Robert Brown.
Witnesses claimed Wright chased the SUV, screamed and waved her arms at the driver and hit the vehicle 12 times.
Wright plead not guilty to assault with a deadly weapon, malicious destruction and driving to endanger.
While the court did not place any restrictions on her driving, she was ordered to see a court psychologist.
"(The psychologist will) assess whether or not there are any psychiatric issues, anger management issues and if there are then the court clinical psychologist will then make recommendations," said Brown.
Wright was released on pre-trail probation and must submit to an anger management evaluation before returning to court on June 9.

You take your life in your hands when you drive around Boston or anywhere inside 495. I've never seen so many pathological drivers in my life. It's like a Roman chariot race.

As has been often said, MA drivers regard stop signs, traffic lights and other rules of the road as mere suggestions.

There is a distinct demon demarkation line at the NH-MA border, and they become more brazen on 495. The weird, erratic, and hostile drivers seem to be possessed by dark spiritual forces. 495 reminds me of the Disneyland haunted House, only the ghosts are invisible.
When driving back to Maine, I was always relieved that the strip of 95 through NH provided a decent buffer zone, where any demons that tried to stick to the car would jump off and head to the state liquor stores.
All would finally be normal again once we drove up the bridge.

Jennifer Wright, a 28-year-old University of Massachusetts at Boston art student, Taking years to complete a degree with no future is enough to make you mad..

"Wright plead not guilty to assault with a deadly weapon, malicious destruction and driving to endanger. "Try that someplace where folks have a RTC and you might find your hide full of .45 sized holes. Assault with a deadly weapon is a felony.
Too, I was enjoying myself this last weekend on a "HUMMER HAPPENING" which is an off road event put on by Hummer dealers for folks who MIGHT be prospective Hummer Owners. they created an offroad course in this state rec area with bulldozers etc. I'm talkin' straight up and straight down! Climbing 16" obstacles, and sideslopes that made my wife nearly topple out of her seat. In a vehicle like that, I might just run OVER a brat like the one in the article.

... shes a product of the past 18 years of Kerrys example. Yup, pretty hard not to place the blame on Kerry for this one. Happened in his state, on his watch.

Yeah, I lived in MA for a while. I knew this guy who showed me how to 'parallel-park by ear', which consisted of alternately bashing the car in front of a small space and the car behind until you made enough space to park your own car. He was recovering from a recent accident when I met him and later rolled his VW over on the snowbank beside an upstate NY freeway when he fell asleep. He was a German living in MA, and that's one hell of a driving combination.
