I can't wait for your first hand impressions. I think something is up with that entire region. I've been looking back over some of their records and there is an increase in activity and events from years gone by. We've discussed all of that and more online here, but still think we ought to keep an eye on that area.

Here are a couple of first hand pictures from around the Old Faithful geyser. These were taking August 17, 2003. The geological features are enjoyable to observe and nasty to smell. The air is tainted with hydrogen sulphide gas and the ground is so hot that you must walk on wood catwalks to avoid the surface soil temps around 200 F.
