"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"

Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

Chewie and Jasper are adorable.

They are brothers. Two of four pups from our first litter in October 2001. Mom and dad are the other two.

And the survey says....

Asia tops terrorism attack list in 2003: survey

TOKYO, April 29 (Xinhuanet) -- There were 3,213 cases of terrorist and guerrilla attacks worldwide in 2003, and the death toll totaled 7,476, Japan's Public Security Investigation Agency released Thursday.

The number of such incidents marked a record high since 1991, when the agency started to conduct a related survey, but the number of victims was about the half that of the peak in 1998.

By region, the Asia and Oceania regions topped the list with 1,478 incidents, followed by the Middle East with 801 and areas covering the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe with 295, according to the survey.

There were a total of 251 such incidents in North, Central and South America, while there were 196 in Africa and 192 in Western Europe.

A lovely garden....lovely home. That's what you get for living in Idaho. Yesterday, we broke the high temp. record for the day...87 degrees here. Right now it is raining, but it is 37 degrees. Expect it to turn to snow shortly. We don't care, as long as it is moisture. So very dry here. Also had 60 mph wind gusts. As long as the moisture comes, it's okay. Do I sound desperate or what? The last three years, we have been evacuated five times because of forest fires. We welcome anything wet!

Wow. Really nice. You have a green thumb!

Oh, Chewey and Jasper being brothers also makes sense. They look very close.

Oops, please apologize to Chewie for me. I meant "Chewie" in my last post not "Chewey."

Good article.

BTW, I read Triplet's book, "Rogue State" last week.

Scary, but enlightening.

So good to see you here. What are your thoughts about the chemical bomb they almost launched in Jordan? What does that tell you about their capabilities?

"What do you know about Chang or anyone who might survive a power struggle? I guess I'm asking, can anyone be worse than Jong-Il?"

I don't know much about him. The Japanese paper said he was resisting efforts to open the economy. No telling what the real story is.

We've welcomed the moisture too. I'm running my sprinklers about 10 minutes on each of the 6 sprinkler groups. I've only watered 3 times this month. If I have rain in the forecast, I hold off. We had high winds last night through noon today. Steady 32 MPH. Gusts to 45+. The blizzard on New Year's Day brought a steady 70 MPH wind with a whiteout that laid down 15 inches of snow in 45 minutes. We had a 2 hour "break", then another round of the same. Shoveling snow is the winter "fitness" program around here :-)

I hope you are blessed with some moisture soon. The snow today included Yellowstone. My wife and I plan to drive up there on Mother's Day weekend. It's only a 2 hour drive, so we make "day" trips that start at 8 AM and end at 11 PM with plenty of daylight time to play. We're going to check the webcams before we leave.

I read that over at Jill's site and I have no idea what to make of it. Do you have any input?

What are your thoughts about the chemical bomb they almost launched in Jordan?

They had 20 tons of explosives and 71 chemicals mixed. The attack was planned in 1999. They had a rough estimate of the number of people that would be killed. Only a breach in operational security prevented them from achieving the objective. They will try again.

Remember the "cooked food secret" = timing + location + quality + quantity. They failed to keep the "secret" this time. We have to be 100% successful in detecting them to prevent another attack. They only have to be successful once.

Canadians will be madder than hell after they read Stewart Bell's shocking account of how the Canadian government has allowed Sikh, Tamil and Islamic terrorists to come into our home and turn it into a safe house for international terror.

And all this time we've been saying what a waste of Pentagon effort all the Canadian invasion plans were...
