"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"
Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

Israeli warships open fire off Gaza coast
The Associated Press
4/27/2004, 3:33 p.m. ET
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) Israeli warships opened fire with machine guns off the Gaza coast after nightfall Tuesday, witnesses said.
It was not immediately clear what the target was. No casualties were reported. Witnesses said there were no Palestinian fishing boats in the water at the time.
The Israeli military had no immediate comment.

I loved watching the F-14s fly over my house in Mira Mesa. The airshow was visible from my driveway. The Blue Angels would line up straight over my house for a group flight southbound over the field. It was a sad day when the Navy turned the field back over to the Marines. The F/A 18s and helicopters are loud in comparison. Still, I appreciate the reason for their presence. My son serves with the USMC reserves from the station on the east end of Miramar. No more aircraft noise up here in Idaho.

OK, I have to go out this afternoon, it's 103+ today. Hold down the fort while I'm gone, I think enough has happened for today. If I didn't have to go I wouldn't!!!
The Damascus prophecy is somewhere on the first thread that was posted after the explosions. I saw it briefly in passing though.

I'm just east of Miramar and am in the helicopter flight path to Yuma so I get a lot of helicopter traffic overhead. It's pretty awesome when they are flying in formation, more so than when they are just flying singly or double. As for the F 18's, the only time I ever see them is when I drive over to Convoy Court to go to the Chinese Market : )
The only really cool stuff I get to see is when Gillespie field has their yearly airshow and all of the really old aircraft come over. Once again, we are directly north of Gillespie so get constant flyovers when the airshow is going on. That's a lot of fun! Old Corsairs and the like : )
I envy you in that you are out of this state. I can not wait until we can get out of here!

While we're on the subject of Iraq.. how many have seen this report?
SADDAM'S WMD HAVE BEEN FOUND.
Finally the truth is coming out. It's about damn time too. Over 6 months ago I said we'd found the WMD in Iraq, but I had no open source corroboration to back that claim up.
Now I do!

New evidence unveils chemical, biological, nuclear, ballistic arms
Posted: April 26, 2004
1:36 p.m. Eastern
New evidence out of Iraq suggests the U.S. effort to track down Saddam Hussein's missing weapons of mass destruction is having better success than is being reported.
Key assertions by the intelligence community widely judged in the media and by critics of President Bush as having been false are turning out to have been true after all.
But this stunning news has received little attention from the major media, and the president's critics continue to insist that "no weapons" have been found.
In virtually every case -- chemical, biological, nuclear and ballistic missiles -- the United States has found the weapons and the programs that the Iraqi dictator successfully concealed for 12 years from U.N. weapons inspectors.
http://worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=38213 Now hopefully the floodgates will open on this issue and all those who accused the Bush Administration of "lies" will be found themsleves to have been the liars and the polly-wanna-cracker parroters of those lies.
It's about damn time!!!

U.S. warns of countries seeking nukes By EDITH M. LEDERER The Associated Press 4/27/2004, 3:34 p.m. ET
UNITED NATIONS (AP) Several countries in addition to Iran and North Korea may be trying to develop nuclear weapons, and Washington is pursuing the customers of an underground Pakistani network, U.S. Undersecretary of State John R. Bolton said Tuesday.
He said he wasn't prepared to name any of the other countries because U.S. officials are still seeking information.
"There are several others," Bolton said. "There's a lot of information that we don't necessarily have corroboration for, but we are pursuing our concerns where we do have information, trying to get additional information, learning from others, and trying to assess the exact magnitude of the threat."
"Certainly one of the things that we're very interested in is finding out if A.Q. Khan's network had other customers, and we're pursuing that in cooperation with a number of other states," he said.
Abdul Qadeer Khan, the father of Pakistan's nuclear program, set up an underground network that supplied nuclear technology to Iran, Libya and North Korea. In February, he admitted being the mastermind of the scheme and was pardoned by Pakistan's president, Gen. Pervez Musharraf.
"There's more out there than we can discuss publicly," Bolton said, "and it's one of the reasons why the depth of our concern about the international market black market in weapons of mass destruction and related materials is as substantial as it."

Great article, thanks. I especially enjoyed this sentence:
TTIC produces a daily "threat matrix" report which catalogs various threats against U.S. interests

Once again, we are directly north of Gillespie so get constant flyovers when the airshow is going on. If you have any interest in ham radio, the Santee drive-in theater hosts a ham radio swapmeet on the first Saturday of each month. That's coming up this Saturday starting at 7 AM. It's probably less than a 5 minute ride from your house. The meet is a mix of ham gear, computer parts, food vendors and the usual swapmeet riff-raff.
The last time I flew out of Gillespie was in a Cessna 172 rented from Golden State. My friend had a membership there. I was always a bit nervous about taking off from that field. The mountains to the west are just high enough that your ground clearance is limited making the left-hand crosswind turn. The people with backyard pools have ZERO privacy. NEVER skinny dip up there :-)

Same here. Quick trip to town (town is 30 minutes one way) so I was gone about 3 hours. I get home and my husband says "this is going on, that's going on, I hope you bought more popcorn".
Mega prayers to the troops.
