"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"
Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

I'm beginning to believe although he contacted 17 congress critters that if one of them, law of average, took the bait and told him get us proof and we'll protect you blah-blah, and they won't! He best watch out for the Clinton body count.

Getting to the TM thread a bit late - but regarding your comment about less manmade light in Antarctica for stellar viewing...
Used to live on the Big Island, and on the mountain of Mauna Loa (almost 14,000 feet) there are observatories, which are considered to be the best in the world, due to the pure clean air and virtually no light pollution.
Maybe the astronomers are in Antarctica because they're looking for something(s) that's coming from that direction?

Chemical fire forces evacuation in Oak Ridge
{{{The expert was playing this down saying the only thing to worry about was the 11,000 lbs. of liquid sodium }}
Fire starts at OR plant
OAK RIDGE - A chemical fire at the government's East Tennessee Technology Park prompted the evacuation of 100 workers and 150 nearby residents Saturday, but officials said the situation appeared to be under control by late evening. The fire occurred while workers were processing sodium metal at Toxco Inc.'s recycling operation west of the federal plant in Roane County. The sodium product is highly reactive and can react violently when combined with water.

Quirky ways that make me Quix?
Oh, Dear! All that again! LOL.
Ah well, at 57, I've mostly come to peace about such quirky ways. Never been much success at trying to be more conventional!!!! That's for sure!
Thanks.

To all the ladies:
THANK YOU FOR BEING MY FRIEND
Thank you for believing in me
when I found it difficult
to believe in myself...
for saying what I've needed to hear sometimes,
instead of what I've wanted to hear...
for siding with me...
and for giving me another side to consider.
Thank you for opening yourself up to me...
for trusting me with your thoughts
and disappointments and dreams...
for knowing you can depend on me
and for asking my help when you've needed it.
Thank you for putting so much
thought and care and imagination
into our friendship...
for sharing so many nice times
and making so many special memories with me.
Thank you for always being honest with me
being kind to me...being there for me.
Thank you for being a friend to me in so many meaningful ways.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MA
To: Quix
Although consumed by fury, you still loved us.
At least that is the knowledge of my heart.
Screaming like a child, you would beat us
Until you snapped, and then the tears would start.
"You know I love you," you would cry, demanding
More of us through tears than with your fist.
And we, through tears, would nod our understanding,
Too bullied in our pain to dare resist.
Yet now that you've been dead for many years,
And I have wandered through my own vast hell,
I see the desperate anguish in your tears
And hope at last that I can love you well.
For only in my love can your love be
The love that once, I think, you had for me.
To: nw_arizona_granny
I call you "Ma," though you are not my mother,
But more a ma than any ma could be.
I've come to love you more than any other;
You took me in your charge and set me free.
You let me run and kissed me when I fell;
You kept your eyes on me and let me stray.
I learned things hard, which means I learned them well,
And got to know myself along the way.
My hope and faith and pride are all from you.
My roots are in your heart; you are my home.
You will be part of everything I do,
In all my thoughts a wise and lovely poem.
For all our lives we'll have this common ground:
You were my rock when else I would have drowned.
I know I haven't been an easy child,
But love for you lies underneath my whims;
There is no way I could be tame or mild:
I need sometimes to shout and wave my limbs.
You're the wall I need to test my height,
The countervailing force to test my strength,
The chain I hammer at with all my might,
Even though you have increased its length.
It's tough, I know, to be both Mom and Dad,
To raise me all alone, just hit or miss;
To have to play at once good cop and bad,
And give me grief before my goodnight kiss.
But love against the odds is stronger still:
I need your fierce, proud love, and always will.
To: mindspy
Interesting point.
Thanks.
