Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

No problem at all with the URL's on my part. I use a popup blocker. Before getting a pop up blocker I did get pop ups from many different disgusting sites but hey, I figured that was my own fault for not keeping up with the latest technology.

Last time I got a bunch of pop ups was when I was searching for Cheat Codes for a game I was playing. Clicked on what appeared to be a good link and was mortified when pop up after pop up of porn started appearing on my screen! The more I clicked to close them the more opened up. Ended up just shutting off the computer and as soon as I had it back up and running, added pop up blocking. Much better now!

That was what the pilot told an eyewitness on the ground after he ejected. I don't know if he meant there was an actual boom or he meant..."boom we started to crash."

I would be surprised if there were. Real small town out in nowhere. I doubt any even live there. But it is about 45 miles outside of a big city.

If my memory serves me, when we were looking at Kitty Hawk and scuba divers, didn't the airfield come out to the edge of the water........?

This story is getting even more interesting. The linked article on the news website says the eyewitness overheard the pilot on the cellphone and that he heard him say he was flying at 50,000 feet? I know it was established that birds fly at lower elevations but do they go that high?

You are RIGHT. I am a bird expert. There is only one bird that flies as high as 50,000 feet...the kind with a rocket engine, fins and an explosive warhead.

I'm listening to the interview on that website and either the news people have it wrong or I'm hearing the guy wrong, but it sounds like he is saying 57 hundred feet, which would be 5700. They've got 50,000 feet on the website.

Listen if you get a chance cause the guy giving the interview says something about "something silver" around the tail in the first part of the interview.

No way a bird did this. If in fact a bird did hit the plane unless it went into the motor (which can't happen on an F-15 or 16) it only kills the bird. Most commerical flight's don't even slow down for a bird.
Something else happened. I think it is funny he called his command and told them he think he flew into a flock of birds.RITFLOL

Maybe the news anchor did say 50,000 rather than 5700 feet.

I know nothing about birds so couldn't vouch for either total being too high to fly.

As I recall, SARS is essentially an airborne droplet pneumonia infection. Airborne in this case by microscopic droplets from coughing, invisible, unfelt, containing the virus, which is deposited on surfaces in the room or directly land on mucous membranes (eyes, nose, mouth) after floating around in the room.

The virus can survive on metal surfaces over 24 hours. If droplets are transferred from clothing to hands to face, a person can be infected that way.
