"I will never cower before any master nor bend to any threat"

Two Chinese diplomats, away from their Los Angeles consulate improperly, recently sped their vehicle past a Los Alamos National Laboratory guard post near classified facilities in what U.S. officials think was an intelligence mission, The Washington Times has learned.

That says rest stops not truck stops, and the box was metal? Did I read that right? I know one thing that comes in a large metal box:

Homemade Bomb Found Near Energy Station
Clinton Officials Investigate Discarded Chemicals

POSTED: 6:31 am CDT April 26, 2004
UPDATED: 6:39 am CDT April 26, 2004

CLINTON, Iowa -- Authorities are investigating what may have been a homemade bomb found near an Alliant Energy substation in Clinton.

Firefighters and police were called the substation Friday night after a report was received that discarded chemicals found at the site may have been a homemade bomb. The street was blocked off and investigators from the state fire marshal's office responded to the scene.

Police say no additional information is available and that fire marshals are continuing their investigation.

Clinton is about 40 miles northeast of Davenport.

I now have only 14 members signed up on the back-up ThreatMatrix site. It is on a 99.99% "up" server [not on the West coast] and my site has never gone down. If FR goes down, don't be left without info next time. After those here register, the public view will be turned OFF and only registered users will be able to even read it, much less post.

C'mon you and JP with the "chubby chatter." You don't have exclusivity on the topic. My mother didn't recognize me my last visit to see her (but she also has Altzheimers, so I try to convince myself it's not the extra poundage). As long as no one takes any photos of me, I've adjusted to it somewhat. Grandmas like us MUST have good laps for our grandchildren. Remember instead of "fat," the word "enhanced" when used with the word "weight" just sounds better :)

That would be a good idea. I have been scanning the southern newspapers and they are all clueless. No wonder my family thinks I am nuts.

Nothing even close to terrorism. Just garden talk about how wonderful it is to be in the south in springtime. It really is a charmed Innocent life. BUT...

In Savannah,Georgia they were asking college kids. What they thought about the G-8 Summit coming and they thought it was a rock band.

My sis lives in a popular Arab highrise near O'Hare. While she was waiting for me to pick her up tonight, she saw one who she has reported to the FBI being suspicious before, this guy gets in a car with an open box of clothes like he's in a hurry, got a message to fly

Well, I don't know about tractor trailers, but Lincoln Blvd. which cuts across LAX was closed for hours. The closure was not at the Airport, but 3-4 mi north of there.

Here is the article. They say WW II munitions were found, but they wouldn't close down the road for hours, evacuate a college and nearby development for that. I think this is just the cover story for something much more serious.

Here is the article:

Suspicious Device Prompts Evacuations
http://www.nbc4.tv/news/3237276/detail.html

LOS ANGELES -- Construction crews unearthed two World War II-era ammunition casings Monday at the base of the Westchester Bluffs, triggering evacuation of more than 200 residents of the Playa Vista development and a portion of the Loyola Marymount University campus.

It wasn't immediately known if the casings contained explosives, said Massie Ritsch, a spokesman with the Playa Vista developers.

Police and Army bomb squads were summoned. The Defense Department requested that all aircraft in the area stay above 2,500 feet and outside a one-mile radius, said FBI spokeswoman Laura Bosley.

NBC 4 reported that both sides of Lincoln Boulevard were closed but are expected to reopen 8 p.m. Monday evening, except at Playa Vista Drive.

Reports said more casings may have been discovered.

Officials of the Raytheon defense firm confirmed the estimated 2,000-pound casings were from the World War II era, Ritsch said. The area near Playa Vista had been used for weapons development.

It was not known when residents would be allowed to return, said Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells.

On April 17, U.S. customs agents stopped an Algerian man using a stolen French passport at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. The man — who was traveling with a French national of Algerian descent who is a suspect on a U.S. government watch list — admitted he bought the passport for $300 on the black market. Both men were deported.

Only deported?!
