CNN is Debunking Richard Clarke!!! (Are Pigs Flying?)

Wolf Blitzer just did an amazing segment on his Inside Politics program.

He led off with a detailed explanation of Clarke's allegation that the Clinton administration's "shaking the trees" led to the capture of the millenium bomber in Seattle. Wolf explained that Clarke had claimed in his testimony that a similar high-alert level prior to 9/11 might likely have prevented that horror. Wolf further showed how Condi Rice had denied Clarke's charge, saying those border agents were not on high alert.

Then Wolf brought on the actual border patrol agent who stopped the bomber in Seattle. He gave her plenty of time to tell what happened. (Bomber came across on ferry, gave unsatisfactory answers and was sweating profusely prior to agents discovering "powder" in the wheel well of his car. She was awesome!)

Then Wolf lowered the boom: "Were you on high alert due to the millenium?"

She said, "No, we weren't. In fact there WAS NO elevated alert system at that time. We were just doing our jobs."

Nailed! What's amazing is that CNN bothered to run this "old news". What's gotten into them? And it was probably a 15 minute interview...quite long for your average political show. I was stunned.

They have to claim some credibility.

Also, Clarke has cast his lots with ABC, exclusively, and won't go on any other networks. CNN is not happy and is punishing ABC and Clarke. JMHO...

This was a direct attack on the Clinton administration's assertion that they were on high alert. It has nothing to do with John Kerry. I don't buy for a second that Clinton instructed a compliant CNN to run it.

Maybe, just maybe, CNN and a few of the other media outlets realize that many of us are not spun by the spin they put on things. Maybe, just maybe, they are starting to realize that their slipping ratings are because more and more people trust them less and less. Maybe, just maybe, they are trying to become more impartial ... to actually be journalists rather than propagandists for liberal causes.

Maybe, just maybe, monkeys will fly out of my butt.

I suspect that someone somewhere in CNN said that no one was buying Clarkes BS, so maybe, just maybe, they should do one token story that had some aspect of balance in it so as not to appear as complete whores to the DNC. Their motivation is ratings, not principles, dollars, not integrity.

Or maybe, just maybe, they screwed up and let the truth slip out.

Earlier today I posted that, after Kerry's horrible showing on GMA, the DNC is probably in emergency session trying to figure out what to do.

What struck me was the way Chas. Gibson went after Kerry.
Not a good sign for Kerry, Or us.

Then this afternoon I saw McAullife attacking Pres. Bush's National Guard record.

Did he defend clinton's anti- war record and clinton's 'visit' to the USSR. YES Boy, does that flip-flop pi$$ me off.

I'll bet Hillary is behind the whole Kerry medal issue.
