CNN is Debunking Richard Clarke!!! (Are Pigs Flying?)

Wolf Blitzer just did an amazing segment on his Inside Politics program.
He led off with a detailed explanation of Clarke's allegation that the Clinton administration's "shaking the trees" led to the capture of the millenium bomber in Seattle. Wolf explained that Clarke had claimed in his testimony that a similar high-alert level prior to 9/11 might likely have prevented that horror. Wolf further showed how Condi Rice had denied Clarke's charge, saying those border agents were not on high alert.
Then Wolf brought on the actual border patrol agent who stopped the bomber in Seattle. He gave her plenty of time to tell what happened. (Bomber came across on ferry, gave unsatisfactory answers and was sweating profusely prior to agents discovering "powder" in the wheel well of his car. She was awesome!)
Then Wolf lowered the boom: "Were you on high alert due to the millenium?"
She said, "No, we weren't. In fact there WAS NO elevated alert system at that time. We were just doing our jobs."
Nailed! What's amazing is that CNN bothered to run this "old news". What's gotten into them? And it was probably a 15 minute interview...quite long for your average political show. I was stunned.

Thanks for the report! I saw the previews for it, but my husband came home and switched the TV back to FOX, so I missed the actual interview.

What's gotten into them? Bill and Hillary Clinton have instructed their minions to make sure Kerry does not win this election.

Don't know that I would have ever thought I would have written this, but in all fairness....BRAVO BLITZER.

Something strange is going on. Combine this with ABC covering Kerry's lie about his medals this morning and I'm wondering why the media appears to be turning on Kerry. Does anyone here think he might not even get his party's nomination? Will it be Hillary to the rescue?

This was a direct attack on the Clinton administration's assertion that they were on high alert. It has nothing to do with John Kerry. I don't buy for a second that Clinton instructed a compliant CNN to run it.

What's gotten into them? They are beginning to get an inkling of who will still be in the Oval Office after Jan 20th.

There's a whole lot more that Wolf could do if he wanted to be credible, but hey...taxiing pigs is not a bad start.

Well if they were smart they would do more of these. There is a ton of real news the media has been missing. After all they are news people, right? As Drudge says, they should be going where the stink is.

First ABC this morning hammered Kerry.
CNN this evening takes the bite out of Clarke's charges.
Maybe pigs do fly.

Hillary to the rescue! You hit the nail on the head. Get ready for bucketloads of dirt to descend on Kerry, all of it spoon-fed by Old Crusty's inhabitant. And the Sink Master's book due out soon, too.

Well, I might be wrong, but maybe just maybe CNN figured out that a good journalist reports the truth. If so I'll start watching CNN again.

They're P.O.'d Kerry's been telling lies and they sense some good ratings out of the stories he's given them on a silver platter.
