I for one will be glad to no longer have to watch the back to back Toomey and Specter commercials on Fox News.

Alright, folks...if Toomey makes it the enthusiasm and contributions can't end just because Specter is gone...the most important battle will be to come and he will need all given to him in the primary and more. Let's not forget this.

There was a message on my machine today from Santorum asking for my vote for Corbett for Attorney General. Nothing about Specter -- I was surprised. Haven't gotten any phone tree messages since the canvassing about a month ago.

My prediction - after Toomey wins, Specter bags the party and endorses Awful Joe Hoeffel (his soul-mate in baby killing)
I do hope I'm wrong and Arlen pleasantly surprises me.
However, if not, good riddance...

I know, you're guarding against too much optimism, and the disappointment that follows, like death follows hubris.
After 24 years of voting in the Senate, however, Arlen has managed to piss off even The Establishment types whose only line of defense is, "Well, at least he can win in November."
Toomey has not run the most organized campaign that this state has ever seen, but the sense I get from people is that he has been able to deflect Specter's attempts to paint him as a wacko.
The defensiveness of The Establishment types shows me that they are not playing to win, but preparing what they need to say when Specter loses.
It's time for me to break some glass so that I can crawl over it on the way to the polls tomorrow.

1000% agreement here. First Specter, then Hatch.
When is that fossil up for re-election, anyway? Utahns are more conservative than that; they can find someone better.

Spectre and then Jeffords and the Rhode Island rino.

Hope you're right Torie - loyalty is the least he should give after the support he got from Bush/Santorum.

I really couldn't care less if Specter's seat goes to the Democrat. If Specter's seat goes to the Democrat, George W. Bush will probably lose the Presidential election.
Anyone wanting Bush to be re-elected better hope Specter or Toomey wins that seat.

Really brilliant!
(/major sarcasm)
And you wonder why some of us talk about "so-called conservatives". Anyone preferring a Democrat to a Republican, especially when it would mean turning the entire Senate over to the Democrats is NO conservative.

One more post before I go to bed...
If there are any Pennsylvanians reading this, please go to the polls and vote for Pat Toomey! We in the other 49 states will be forever grateful to you for ridding us of liberal Arlen.
