If Kerry continues to lose ground, will he be dumped at the convention?

Do the Dems have more dirt to throw at President Bush?

Perhaps they can charge the Pres. with secretly conspiring to publicly humiliate the UN Oil for Food principals.

Yep. Something tells me slick willy wants his (cough, cough) lovely bride of, who knows how many years, to be the savior....

She'll get so many pubbies and conservatives out of their slumber, she'll feel like the Red Sox after Aaron Boones' HR.......

The Claws of Hillary are evident, IMHO. Kerry has about 3 weeks to get something resembling traction or McAwful and the Clintons will arrange for him to be dumped.

This is only Round 1 of many more potential hits from his "friends."

Another Freeper has already heard this on liberal radio. Perhaps it was Err America, however they were laying the blame on Republicans not just the Pres.

I've seen the beginning of calls for this on DU...but I don't think the left is smart enough to dump a loser before they're committed.

Theory B is that the Clintons are behind it and want Kerry to lose so thoroughly and completely that Hillary is seen as the only possible saviour of the party.

That theory is growing on me.

Which makes it even more important IMHO to get Condi Rice into the VP slot. I don't want Cheney to die and I really like the guy, but it would be nice if he a relapse that caused his docs to tell him to give it up.

A group of us have been saying for 6 months that Kerry will be dumped in favor of Hillary.

There are a multitude of reasons why she chose to do it this way, rather than run in the primaries.

Now even Dick Morris is on board with this conceot.

Kerry is toast. I'm worried now that the delegates to the democratic convention could revolt and refuse to vote for Kerry and throw it open. If they throw it open, Her Heinous is the likely sucessor. And as bad as Her Heinous is, she could give GWB a run for her money. At that point GWB's best counter would be to name Condi Rice as his VP candidate and move Cheney into a cabinet position.

But if Kerry keeps this up, he can't survive. He can't even tell the truth about what car he drives.

How about a refrain from one of my old posts:

The threw away someone else's medals
He owns someone else's SUV
He married someone else's wife
And inherited someone else's money

Maybe someday he'll be president of someone else's country.

Looks like he lied about someone else's medals and he obviously lied about someone else's SUV. Do you think he lied about marrying the Pickle princess? Maybe they're just shacking up.

What are the legalities vis-a-vis the convention? If Kerry won delegates in a primary or caucus, are those delegates bound to him?

Of course, this is the party that managed to get the NJ State Supreme Court to make up the laws to get rid of Torricelli, so maybe existing law or precedent doesn't matter...

They don't need any more dirt. Heck, with the pit bulls they have, they can just make up some stories, say around October, and then claim that they need to be investigated.

If can't if Kerry doesn't resign "voluntarily". If the conventioneers arbitrarily decide to dump the LEGITIMATE Democrat candidate in favor of someone they think will have a better chance against Bush, they will be essentially saying to the people who voted in good faith in the primaries, "You are too stupid to pick a decent candidate so we reject Kerry and will pick one for you".

Yes, I know that it is what they believe anyway, but to confirm it would be devestating to their party. People that are borderline Democrats (both conservative and fringe left Dems) will abaondon the party for Bush or a third parties or sit at home on election day.

Don't forget that just prior to the last election they drug out bogus DUI charges.
That act alone narrowed the gap between President Bush and (former) VP Gore so watch for it to come up again.

In other words, the vote in Florida would have been meaningless.
