The borough was given a double hit as first candidate security and then nature tied up traffic.
At the end of last week, presumed Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry visited the family estate of his wife Theresa Heinz Kerry.
Borough forces, both police and public works, were mobilized to support U.S. Secret Service agents. Roads were closed for the motorcade through the center of the borough.
Then history repeated itself Monday as traffic backed up again when a tree toppled. About 8 a.m. the large pine tree near the entrance to Fox Chapel Golf Club fell. High winds were blamed, but the roots pulled up from the saturated ground.
Police Chief David Laux estimated the tree had a diameter of 36 to 40 inches. It knocked out two electrical lines, as well as cable and telephone lines into Shady Side Academy.

Ya gotta LOVE little local weekly newspapers like The Herald...
a visit by John Kerry rates inclusion in a story that's primarily about a fallen tree!

I can recall somebody cruisin' around that neighborhood in an Excalibur.
Of course, that was looooong before Theresa ever latched onto her first senator,
so I kinda doubt she ever got her grubby mitts on that one.

Are the local folks expected to bow low and avert their eyes when the royals pass to visit one of their rustic palaces?

What you gotta love is that these two blowhards both married into the money and neither one is directly related to the Heinz Family. Talk about Carpet Baggers!

I'm 1000% certain the neighbors were pi$$ed by the disruption to their routine.
Pittsburgh may be staunchly blue-collar Democrat,
but the Fox Chapel suburb is a GOP stronghold.
(Well, it's a country-club RINO stronghold anyway, with a kooky smattering of weird liberal soccer moms.)
But just the same, I'm certain the Borough manager's phone was ringin' off the hook with complaints about the traffic inconvenience. They're not the type of people to let themselve get pushed around like that.

Wouldn't you love to have a picture of "Thurston and Lovey" in their red fox-hunting jackets?!

Does old Botox-Johnnie have a brand preference on his SUV? Were all of these rigs built in the USA?

I really wonder if Kerry has got something on Heinz that she doesn't want found out?

John Kerry visited the family estate of his wife Theresa Heinz Kerry. If Effin hadn't married into money (both times), he'd be sleeping on a bench in Boston Common.
