Truly sad. May he rest in peace and may his family find some comfort in the sacrifice he made to keep us all safe.

GWB should make an exception and go to his funeral.

NO! Tillman wanted to be only a soldier. He did not want special treatment, and Bush will be wise to treat his death as no more or less than anyone else who gave their life for us. Bush should and will stay away.

Seriously, if anyone is an AZ Freeper, start a campaign to have the stadium renamed Tillman Stadium.

What a fitting, excellent tribute that would be. Great idea.

I am glad that I am not trolling over there. If I said on this board what I thought of those liberals now blaming the Administration, I would get a lifetime ban before the typeset dried (so to speak). I am sure that it does not matter that he died in Afghanistan, where he went after September 11th. After all, the only military action for liberals that matters is firing a missile and hitting a camel in the butt in order to make the world safer for Billy Boy to get a blowjob in the Oval Office.

I hope the NFL has the backbone to honor him properly. An American hero.

All the military are heros, God bless them. This is sad, damn sad loss.

The only way I can explain it is that God decided his forces needed a good Ranger.

I think at the very least, the Cardinals should honor him by putting Tillman's old number on their jerseys this year.

Prayers for his family and for every soldier serving our country to keep freedom alive......

AMERICAN SOLDIER Toby Keith

I'm just trying to be a father,
Raise a daughter and a son,
Be a lover to their mother,
Everything to everyone.
Up and at 'em bright and early,
I'm all in my business suit,
Yeah, I'm dressed for success from my head down to my boots,
I don't do it for money, there's still bills that I can't pay,
I don't do it for the glory, I just do it anyway,
Providing for our future's my responsibility,
Yeah I'm real good under pressure, being all that I can be,
And I can't call in sick on Mondays when the weekends been to strong,
I just work straight through the holidays,
And sometimes all night long.
You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door,
Hey, I'm solid, hey I'm steady, hey I'm true down to the core,
And I will always do my duty, no matter what the price,
I've counted up the cost, I know the sacrafice,
Oh, and I don't want to die for you,
But if dyin's asked of me,
I'll bear that cross with an honor,
'Cause freedom don't come free.
I'm an american soldier, an american,
Beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand,
When liberty's in jeopardy I will always do what's right,
I'm out here on the front lines, sleep in peace tonight. American soldier, I'm an American,
An American,
An American Soldier

"You can do whatever you want with me," Tillman said, "but in four years I'm gone. I've got things to do with my life."

Oh, I'm so sorry to read this sad news -- as with each person, what a loss! Thanks for the ping, Jeff.

I wish these idiots in the media would do some research and understand the things about which they report. A soldier doesn't go to Special Forces Training in order to become a Ranger.

God Bless the Tillman family. I can't put into words how much respect and admiration I had for him. He put his country ahead of his mondey, just like our founding fathers.

He is an example of what sort of Americans make a career out of the Armed Forces but you never hear about because they didn't start out famous.

Agreed. Do not spend too much time wondering why Franken and Garafolo get to go on and peddle their spite. Rather, understand that Tillman sacrificed all his tomorrows so that Franken and Garafolo might live to believe as they choose to believe.

Remember Walter Pidgeon's line from The Bridges At Toko-Ri?

"Where do we get such men?"

Indeed, the final line from Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities is quite apt here:

"It is a far, far better thing that I do now than I have ever done. It is a far, far better rest to which I go than I have ever known."

Be Seeing You,

Chris
