In the case of the Boston Globe and John Kerry, familiarity definitely breeds contempt. They are political soul mates, of course, and one might expect the newspaper would be among his biggest boosters. But it's clear they really don't like the guy. This is just one in a series of unflattering stories the Globe has run about Kerry.
I have no doubt that when the rubber meets the road they'll endorse him. But along the way they're taking some good shots at Mr. Heinz-Kerry ("OK, Johnny, here are the keys to the Suburban, but don't forget to put some gas in it!)

The Globe has got to attack this guy. He's been a Senator up there a long time. They can't get scooped. It already looks like they haven't been doing their job.
Of course, the Senior Senator from that state has been there a long time as well, and he would be EVEN EASIER to sink.
*oops*

Or, perhaps, they do like the guy and this is an innoculation move.

In the case of the Boston Globe and John Kerry, familiarity definitely breeds contempt. This is amazing that the Globe and Kerry would not be like Eleanor Clift and Clinton.
Must be something in the caviar.

Let me put on my tinfoil hat for a moment to ask a question: is it possible the Globe is in on a Clinton-based plot to leave Kerry too weak to be the candidate, so that he's replaced (probably) by Hillary just as CFR kicks in (isn't that 60 days before an election?), so that all Bush's money has gone on anti-Kerry ads, and he wouldn't be able to run anti-Hillary ads anyway?
I may well be missing something here or just be paranoid.
