The military records that Sen. John Kerry posted on his Web site yesterday raise new questions about the actions he took to earn several prestigious war medals and whether he deserved them.

The Navy awarded Mr. Kerry three Purple Hearts, a Silver Star and a Bronze Star in just four months of commanding a gunboat along rivers in Vietnam. It's an extraordinary record, say many veterans, and one that raises questions on its face.

If John Kerry had served in the Army, I could believe so many awards in so short a period of time.
Just think if Kerry's commanding officer was Gen. Patton how many PH's he would have come out with.....

He was credited with killing 20 enemy fighters.

How many of these 20 were the innocent civilians he claims to have slaughtered? And do we REALLY want a confessed war criminal as president?

The distinguished medal of honor that Kerry received .. how many of them were awarded to soldiers during Vietnam ?

He didn't receive the medal of honor. He was given a silver star and a bronze star along with the 3 purple hearts. There were 21,630 silver stars awarded in Vietnam. There were 720,000 bronze stars awarded.

I agree.

Funny that, in the middle of the hottest time of fighting in Vietnam, when trained officers are desperately needed in the boats, his CO decided to send Kerry HOME way ahead of schedule using as an excuse an unwritten "technicality" in the regulations about getting wounded 3 times THAT NOBODY ELSE USED!

I agree - He was shipped home because that is the one place were he could do the least amount of damage!

(And the admiral he workedfor as an aide also agreed to LET HIM OUT of active duty early!)

I got a National Defense Medal. I qualified for an Expert Rifleman Medal (Seabees) but never went over to personel to pick it up. I flew into Saigon and was sitting on an airplane when they announced the war would end that night. That means I "qualified" for the Viet Nam Service Medal and the Ribbon awarded by South Viet Nam. I never requested them. "Qualifying" and "earning" are two different things in my book. Kerry is an insult to all those who earned medals.

I have no idea where my National Defense Medal is and I wish I did. I also wish I had picked up my Expert Rifleman Medal.

You forgot Sgt. York and Rambo!
I keep waiting for somebody to photoshop John F'n Kerry's head on top of Rambo's picture...
Say, come to think of it, why doesn't he volunteer to go over to Iraq and show the Marines how it's done?

Lol. I'm not sure whether the pansies Patton slapped around were awarded purple hearts for wounds inflected by the General, but perhaps Patton would have just shot Ltjg Early Out.

On a related thread, the Silver and Bronze Star awards bear the signature of John Lehman. The Secretary of the Navy at the appropriate time was Chaffey. Those awards appear bogus as well.

Although there is a website that will translate any text into "jive" or any of several other "dialects," it's often easier to just slip into "Kingfish Mode" - if you happen to remember the old Amos and Andy characters from the 50's....

<kingfish mode=on>

Nah lemme seef Ah's goddiss straight. Chon Kerry seh dat he vote FOE dat 87 bill for eye-rack juss a fore he vote-a GAINS it. Dat no make no man no sense utall.

<kingfish mode=off>

See, you can do it with HTML just as easily....

Kidding...

I agree. How different is he from those ex-Nazis that keep popping up, and have their citizenship revoked, simply for being guards at concentration camps? I don't mean to imply that he is a Nazi (although he probably would not hesitate to call members of the "Republican attack machine" that), but being a self confessed, on the record, committer of atrocities, and therefore, a war criminal, has to count for something.

He is unfit to be CIC, I am not even mentioning the sedition he practiced after the fact......

I don't remember anybody getting three Purple Hearts and leaving, even within six or eight months," said Mr. Waller, who as a medic was responsible for determining whether injuries warranted Purple Hearts. "And if they did, it was very, very rare _ not to mention the Silver Star and the Bronze Star."

No wonder it was so d*mn easy for him to pretend he was throwing his medals over the WH fence. He NEVER earned them to begin with!
