America is smarter than the press.

When we get to know JFK, a rich , self serving gigalo, the tide will turn.

Don't beleive the current polls. Bush is headed to a 45 state blow out.

I can't help but like our president. He's the kind of man you could expect to find in my garage on poker nights or having a bull session around the bonfire. Thats why i like him but it still isnt reason to vote for him.

I will vote for Bush based allmost entirely on a couple of issues. First is the fact that he has recognized the greatest threat that mankind has ever known and chosen to confront it head on rather that ignore it hoping it goes away. the second is the fact that he seems to know that I pay too much in taxes.

The Democrat primaries were all about who hated Bush the most. One would think the issue would be settled, but no. Kerry continues with the 'hate Bush' campaign.

It's sickening, and making the electorate sick...sick of Kerry.

I pray she is right. Yet, like yesterday, chatting with a well-dressed woman reading Time magazine in the doctor's waiting room, I keep hearing people parroting what they just heard on the network news or possibly in Time magazine. "He lied." "He misled us." "He just wanted to help his oil buddies make more money." (Implying, at the same time, that I must be somehow gullible or stupid for thinking otherwise.) Discouraging, to hear it so often.

If Bill Clinton, who thought Iraq had WMDs, had invaded Iraq post-9/11 and not found them, he would have been thrown out of office.

Good article but on this item no way. About the only time I praised Clinton was in '98 when I thought he was going to kill Saddam. WMD would've made no difference to me had Clinton gone through with his threats but of course he backed off. He only kills people like Brown and Foster I guess who have no real power. Should've known.

If Bill Clinton, who thought Iraq had WMDs, had invaded Iraq post-9/11 and not found them, he would have been thrown out of office. That's because no one ever believed what Mr. Clinton said, and they wouldn't have believed his explanations.

Precisely. Bill Clinton, in fact, went on national TV with his SecState and declared a War on Terror, and named Bin Laden as public enemy number one. I watched it. I didn't believe him.

About every other time I read a Peggy Noonan article I get the same emotional reaction that I got from Reagans speeches. Peggy wrote many or most of Reagans speeches.

For a conservative, she works closer to the emotional side of issues than any other I know. And she does it surprisingly effectively.

This was a good read.

Beautiful description of Bush being like the guy calmly putting out the fire and continuing with his narrative. That's him. I do disagree with the statement on Clinton. If taking illegal campaign contributions from people connected with the Chinese army didn't get him thrown out of office, nothing would have.

Wow! That was refreshing. Kinda reveals idiots supporting Kerry as the illogical, delusional, one issue wonders they are. She sounded like the true American spirit of God, family & country. I hate to say it, but it's nice to hear from a woman who thinks. Thats why i like my newly found source of awareness here on Free Republic, thank you everyone for your eye- opening examinations. Last year on veterans day in an assembly at my kids Christian private school. Less than a dozen parents and grandparents stood up, i was the only woman. Thank you Lord for the sacrifice of the brave.

The Democrats and the media would like us to think that Bush is a: liar, stupid, radical, and insane, all rolled into one.

He is none of these things, but there are people buying it, I hear it from people I know. I think most of us understand the truth, but I have no doubt that the propaganda campaign is having some effect.

But I hope the blowout prediction is right. It would send a message to the Muslim world, for one thing.

I think President Bush continues to receive strong support because he's the Anti Clinton. He is plain spoken, no question "what the meaning of is, is".

I also think the Washington Press Corps did him a huge favor by acting like spoiled children last week. I suspect Americans that watched the press conference felt "Hey, you are acting our President!" and are reacting accordingly.

This is a small example of what will happen if / when we get hit by the terrorists before the coming November elections. We aren't Spain.

Deeper in the article, she says regarding Kerry, "[It's] As if Iraq is an issue Kerry feels he has to handle, and not a brutal question we have to solve."

Very perceptive. I have the same feeling about Kerry, that he thinks of Iraq primarily as a campaign issue to be finessed, not as a compelling reality that must be dealt with seriously.

As if Iraq is an issue Kerry feels he has to handle deftly, and not a brutal question we have to solve, together. As if homeland security is an issue, or civil defense, or preparedness. They're not issues. They're life and death. Mr. Kerry doesn't seem to know.

But we do.

Peggy Noonan BUMP!
