Clinton Accuses Bush of Withholding Information from Public

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) accused President George W. Bush of withholding information from the American people in remarks at a gathering of newspaper editors in Washington on Tuesday.

Clinton said in a one-hour interview before a group of newspaper industry insiders attending the annual American Society of Newspaper Editors Convention that Bush has roadblocked the necessary information that editors need to write accurate stories.

"It's difficult for editors and publishers here to get to the bottom of stories," Clinton said in Editor & Publisher. "This administration, to an extent I haven't seen before, tells the press to go away -- and they do, like most people do when told that more than once."

Directly attacking the Bush administration, Clinton said they do not provide answers that she believes are completely forthcoming.

"Many in this administration are quite expert at saying nothing despite your best efforts to get them to say something," Clinton accused in Editor & Publisher.

Addressing the need for information to be released, Clinton said the Bush administration needs to cooperate better for the sake of the American people.

"[S]o much is at stake now and the public needs more information," Clinton exclaimed.

Alluding to the "right-wing conspiracy" she espoused during her years in the White House as first lady, Clinton told the editors that "the echo chamber of talk radio can drown out a three-part series any of you write."

Clinton said Bush has made "stunning mistakes" in regards to Iraq and blamed Bush for failing to capture the leader of the terrorist group responsible for September 11.

"[It is] insulting that Usama bin Laden is still around to taunt us," Clinton expressed.

When asked to play political soothsayer about the November election, Clinton said of Kerry that "he will" win and guaranteed it was a "better than 50/50" chance of happening.

She said this assertion is "based on hope ... [a]nd an abiding faith and respect for the good sense of the American electorate."

Clinton revealed her husband, former President Bill Clinton, will be actively campaigning on behalf of Kerry.

"He has and he will," Sen. Clinton stated.

This is an indirect, not-so-subtle slam at our military.

I wish she would jump on her broom and get out of sight forever.

That shouldn't be a problem for her.

Look out for Hillary.
Kerry may NOT be the one the Democrats choose at their convention.
It may be a ruse to get the GOP to expend a ton of energy fighting Kerry, then Hillary slips in during the convention.
Sometimes I get the feeling that she's not so much campaigning for Kerry when she makes these appearances...........

It was my first thought too, especially when considering these final ominous (for Kerry) words:

Clinton revealed her husband, former President Bill Clinton, will be actively campaigning on behalf of Kerry.

"He has and he will," Sen. Clinton stated.

This is incredible. Is this the same Clinton who withheld documents under subpoena and which suddenly appeared 3 years later after they had been purged? Is this the same Clinton who had her staff go through the Vincent Foster files and purge them before the police came the day of his "suicide"?

"Many in this administration are quite expert at saying nothing despite your best efforts to get them to say something," Clinton accused in Editor & Publisher.

Hillary is trying to remove a speck in the Bush Administration eye while balancing a log in her own (and her hubby's administration) eye.

....he covered up terrorist involvement in OKC and flight 800...

While I agree, these stories are heating up, I highly doubt the 911 Omission has any intention of "going there".

What sin did we commit, what crime did we do to deserve the Clintons ?

Not a sin or a crime, just an oversight in our constitution that doesn't somehow require runoff elections for choosing the president. Perot stepped in and threw it off in '92. If he hadn't there would never have been a '96 and you would not have to ask the question that you did.

We didn't pay attention. After the Berlin wall and soviet communism crumbled and fell, there were those who warned of ensuing corruption to ME areas and the threats that could develop. And we didn't pay attention to them.

At a time when America needed strong leadership to recognize that many changes and challenges would come from those events, not all predictable, the country itself didn't think it through and went blissfully on it's merry way, the cold war threat now miraculously "gone".

We lost focus, and didn't have a sense of what's important, and that's deadly in this game of life.

Good news for President Bush to have the Clintons campaigning for Kerry. Their track record is bad -- McBride in FL, Mondale in MN, Gray Davis in CA and the list goes on!
