When I was 13 a pit bull came out of a yard and charged my friend and I. I only had a split second to react so I tried to kick him as he rushed me. It didn't phase him one bit so he just grabbed the same leg I kicked with and pulled me to the ground. About that time I pulled my trusty flea market bowie knife from my coat pocket and whacked him across the bridge of his snout. He let out a yelp and then let my leg go and just stood at the edge of the yard. My friend and I got out lickity split. Good thing my dad taught me how to sharpen a knife!

There's a skill to striking with a katana - hacking is pretty ineffectual. One must draw the blade while striking for full effect.

Yes, I am aware - however, even hacking with a real katana would kill a pit bull rather quickly. I agree with an above poster - it was without doubt an ornamental sword, and about as useful as a bat.

Yes, without doubt not sharp. I'm surprised they kept a ninety-five pound agressive pit-bull in a shack until they culd find someone to take it. They should have shot it outright (after the unprovoked bite).

Don't get me wrong folks, I love all dogs, including pits.

Dog of Piece alert. Article says the dog bit him once already last week and they were still trying to understand why the dog hated them, by keeping it quarrantined. They let the dog out and it went berserk....but they really are a sweet cuddly loveable breed. They are just misunderstood.
