Kean: Sept. 11 panel will be more low-key
By HOPE YEN, Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) - The chairman of the Sept. 11 commission denies panel members are grandstanding or showing partisanship but says they plan a more low-key approach as they put together recommendations for a final report.
"There will be a lower profile," Republican chairman Thomas Kean, a former New Jersey governor, said in an interview. "Trying to do anything in Washington is very, very difficult because the atmosphere is so poisonous and there are rockets coming from the right and the left.
"But I believe we'll steer through the distractions and write a fair and balanced report."
*SNIP*
"They've become too public," she said. "It tempts commissioners into making assessments and conclusions prematurely."

...that's what they can do to keep the commission out of partisan politics."Too late for that, Bubba. Gorelick must take the stand in order to find out how to avoid such disasters in the future.

"...fair and balanced..."
What a novel concept. It seems that I have heard that somewhere before, but I'm really not sure.

To: Libloather
Yeah, Gorelicker squawking to any leftist media outlet that will listen is really low-key.

Thanks for the ping---I got it while reading it!
"They've become too public," she said. "It tempts commissioners into making assessments and conclusions prematurely."
Whoever "she" is (I'm not clicking the link to read the whole dreary thing), could we start having a little publicity about the comments some commissioners were making BEFORE the thing was even formed? That Hamilton quote I came across the other day is still rankling me.

WOW now Kean is saying not only should we stay out of their business but that we're all liars by saying they haven't been in the media grandstanding.

Freepers - we need to keep this alive.
She stifled FL800, OKC, etc.
John Ashcroft is not stupid.
Certainly he is thinking what we are thinking about her.
There's one person who knows alot; Reno's former FBI lesbian bodyguard. She was in Reno's office daily. Certainly she knows LOTS about Gorelick, who had Reno wrapped around her little finger.
I don't think that FBI bodyguard would lie under oath.
To: Libloather
I've called the commission twice, the first time to advise them to get rid of the liberal "cheering section" unless they want the whole thing to be looked at as a partisan circus; the second time (today) to advise them that the final report will have no relevancy unless Gorelick resigns and testifies under oath.
Give 'em a call: 202-331-4060. If you get a machine, hit "0".

The very fact that Gorelick found it necessary to respond indicates that she should be "clearing the air"...under oath, in front of this commission.

She learned at Bubba's knees (pun intended). She won't appear before a camera unless she is in complete control of the line of questioning.

But I believe we'll steer through the distractions and write a fair and balanced report. As I wrote to the commission, it's too late. If anyone wants to know why September 11 happened they need only to look at this Commission. Partisanship, grandstanding, personal agendas, etc. are more important than national security. This panel of goofs, even given the somber nature of the event that even put them there, couldn't find it in their hearts to rise above Washington business as usual approach. They disgraced the memories of all those lost.

Translation - time to crawl into a hole and pull it in after us, until the Gorelick sh!tstorm blows over. Once we've put the public back to sleep, we can get back to our real work, destroying the Bush presidency.
It's up to us to let the kangaroo court know their little plan is doomed to fail.

"There will be a lower profile," Republican chairman Thomas Kean, a former New Jersey governor, said in an interview. A little late for that, Governor RINO... A little late for "non-partisan". Give Richard Ben-Vin-*hole a kiss goodbye... and tell that Gore-licker to take the oath. Her "hard work" on this commission is done... Now for the testimony.
