Patriots Day: Red Sox Beat Yankees
MLB | 4/19/04 | Gothmog

Posted on 04/19/2004 7:52:05 AM PDT by Gothmog

In Massachusetts this is Patriots Day, a day to remember and salute those American Patriots who have served, fought and died for the liberties we enjoy today.

For those of us not on the front lines, it is also a way to show other countries one of the ways Americans resolve their differences and relieve societal tension without resorting to hatred and violence – IOW, by watching the Red Sox beat the goresucking yankees.

So please take some time today to remember American Patriots past and – most certainly – present. Let’s say a prayer for our troops and show the rest of the world (once again) how a civilized country works.

My prediction: Sox take it easy and beat yanks 13-0, jeter and lex share a sad moment and Steinbrenner fires Torre.

Now 3-0, we're spotting them a few to keep their spirits up.

So I gather that what you are saying is that compared to the yanks, the bosox are always losers.

remember this is coming from a fan of the perennial 4th place finisher in the AL east, so the chip on my shoulder is even bigger than yours. I don't even have stats to lean back on.

The comparison to the French military is only valid if the Red Sox had a habit of walking off the field in the fifth inning and going home.

2.5 million tickets already sold at Fenway for this season!

2.5 million idiots in Massachusetts...since when is that news? :-)

Hey Yankee fans, how do you like A-Fraud so far?

For the cubicle bound, the Red Sox let the yanks boost their self-esteem in the top of the 2nd, but then gamely came back to make it 3-1.

The yanks' pitcher is 3-0 this season -- all against the mighty devil rays. Brownie won't last to the sixth.

Top of the 3rd -- the mighty US Air Force just did a fly by, lexie got scared and weakly grounded out to third.

Dang straight.

Mighty good weekend for braves fans after they swept the World Champion marlins, who came into town the hottest team in baseball riding a seven game winning streak and thirty straight scoreless innings pitched.

The reports of the braves demise were greatly exaggerated.

I just saw the military jets that did the fly by over Fenway from my window!

I hate Giambi!

If Cox can coax another division title out of this bunch, he should be Manager of the Year, hands down. I'm concerned about Chipper, though. And of course, Drew is hurt again.

I guess he's still got some roids left in his system. Too bad they can't find a spot to play him in the field. He's not exactly the aging veteran.

A lot of money for someone who can't even play 1st base.

Oh yeah at the end of the year his stats will look ok, but when it really matters, he will hit about .200 with men in scoring position. We Ranger fans know exactly how A-Fraud works, he gets all of his stats during garbage time.
