THE CRACKED POT A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on the end of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the masters house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots of full of water in his masters house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect to the end for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you." "Why?" asked the bearer. "What are you ashamed of?" "I have been able for these past two years, to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your masters house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all this work, and you dont get full value from your efforts," the pot said. The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and in his compassion he said, "As we return to the masters house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path." Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path, and this cheered it some. But at the end of the trail, it still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and so again it apologized to the bearer for its failure. The bearer said to the pot, "Did you notice that there were flowers only on your path, but not on the other pots side? Thats because I have always known about your flaw, and took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back from the stream, youve watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my masters table. Without you being just the way you are, he would not have this beauty to grace his house. Each of us has our unique flaws. Were all cracked pots. But, its the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. Youve just got to take each person for what they are, and look for the good in them. Chaplain Mitch Schranz

Our Life In Heaven
Read: Revelation 22:1-5
There shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. Revelation 22:3
Bible In One Year: 2 Samuel 3-5; Luke 14:25-35
The following words were inscribed on a gravestone: "Don't weep for me now, don't weep for me ever; for I'm going to do nothing forever and ever." Some people think heaven will be a boring place. Others, after years of exhausting work, look forward to doing nothing in heaventhe ultimate retirement!
It's true that in heaven we will rest from earthly labors (Revelation 14:13), but it's not a place of inactivity. When John saw a vision of the New Jerusalem with the throne of God and the Lamb, and populated with God's redeemed people, he stated plainly, "His servants shall serve Him" (22:3).
If we know Christ as Savior, we will be raised up with resurrection power to serve Him in heaven. Never again will we serve Him half-heartedly and sporadically as we often do now. Instead, we'll serve enthusiastically and continually (7:15). In unimaginable ways, we will be involved creatively with God without the agonies of decline and death (21:4). We'll happily spend eternity basking in God's redeeming love and exploring endless pleasures at His right hand (Psalm 16:11).
Heaven certainly isn't a boring place with nothing to doit's a place where we'll see Christ's face and joyfully serve Him forever! Joanie Yoder
Face to face! O blissful moment!
Face to faceto see and know;
Face to face with my Redeemer,
Jesus Christ, who loves me so. Breck
Jesus is preparing a place for us and preparing us for that place.

Hey, Tonk.....
Since I'm pretty much clueless about how to post the really neat and eyecatching stuff, I'm going to ask you to bear with me on this one.
I'd like to include The Marine's Prayer in this thread.
Thank You in advance for your patience:
Almighty Father, whose command is over all and whose love never fails, make me aware of Thy presence and obedient to Thy will. Keep me true to my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and helping me to live so that I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones, and Thee without shame or fear. Protect my family.
Give me the will to do the work of a Marine and to accept my share of responsibilities with vigor and enthusiasm. Grant me the courage to be proficient in my daily performance. Keep me loyal and faithful to my superiors and to the duties my Country and the Marine Corps have entrusted to me. Help me to wear my uniform with dignity, and let it remind me daily of the traditions which I must uphold.
If I am inclined to doubt, steady my faith; if I am tempted, make me strong to resist; if I should miss the mark, give me courage to try again.
Guide me with the light of truth and grant me wisdom by which I may understand the answer to my prayer.
Amen.

Almighty God, Your glory is eternal and beyond our ability to comprehend, yet You choose to reach down to us in Love. And it is Your love that guides us and directs us into the paths of righteousness for your name's sake. Your love leads us into all truth. In this dire time for our nation, Father, we pray for You to focus our hearts on righteousness and truth. Enable us to cut through the fog of war thrown up by the enemy. Enable us again to realize that we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Remind us again that we have powerful spiritual weapons with which we can confront the enemy. In Jesus' name we pray; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
