First Chris Matthews referred to Condi as GB's butler! Now Trudeau is referring to her as "brown sugar." Where is the NAACP? Where is the outrage?

Does the term "butler" have anything to do with race? I thought most butlers were white, anyway.

Are you referring to "someone called Dr. Rice"?

Did anyone hear the Phil Hendrie show the evening of the day Dr. Rice testified before the commission? His "guest" was complaining that Bush didn't focus the spotlight on the fact she was black. He was suggesting that Bush should say something like, "Take a look at what this black woman can do"... and he went on further to say that Kerry was in contact with her to join his team, and that (paraphrasing) "you can be sure that Kerry will make sure people know
every day that Dr. Rice is black!"
It was truly hilarious. And of course, the calls from people who actually believed it was a real discussion were to die for.

They get away with it because the Democrats let them. After all, Massa sho' nuff won't stop his favorite slaves if they slap around those who dare to leave the plantation.
Hey, old white man - yeah you, "Doonesbury" - you ceased being funny about 30 years ago. Same with your racist humor. Lay off the black chick NOW, ofay.

To: CalKat
I may be wrong, but I thought "butler" was a reference to house um, slaves (can't say the n word) for the Bush White House.

Well one things you can say about Trudeau, this guy has the best job in comics. He can recycle the same illustrations (of the White House) he was using 30 years ago. All he has to do each day is fill in the captions. Nice work if you can get it.

Does the term "butler" have anything to do with race? No, it doesn't, not to me, anyway. Because Condi Rice is black, that's exactly what CM's was referring to, though. And it's okay to call her "brown sugar?"

Trudeau spreads another myth Condoleezza Rice spoke on the record with reporters before meeting Richard Clarke citing Al Qaeda several times. Clarke made assumptions (like always) and he's wrong (yet again).

Butler does not refer to a house slave. Butlers are usually found among aristocracy and the very wealthy, and it is a very honorable and prestigous career.

Butler does not refer to a house slave That is true. However, Dr. Condoleeza Rice is without question the most powerful Black Woman the world has ever seen. She shoulders enormous responsibility at a difficult time in our history -- and she seems to be doing an excellent job.
Referring to her as a servant? As if she were hired help? It's demeaning. Explicitly racist? Perhaps not. But remember -- the Democrats went ballistic went someone (correctly) used the word "niggardly" about government spending. To refer to Dr. Rice as a "butler" certainly treads on risky racial ground.

Where is the outrage? There is none...because Condi Rice isn't black, she's Republican.

the outrage is at the same place the outrage over Sen Chris Dodd's comments about KKK member Robert Byrd - very similar to those made by Trent Lott. Find the outrage over that!

So, when are the racials going to rise up and smite these insolent white trash liberals?
Or, are they like the NOW lawn geese during the Monica days?
