According to an article Rush just read, Jamie Gorelick was quietly asked by Commission Chairman Thomas Kean to resign from the 9/11 commission due to conflict of interest. According to an unnamed staffer, she refused. Should we start a poll on how long she lasts?

Is she on this panel to protect Clinton? ..of course!..IMHO, She is a $hrillary's Lackey/Bootlicker (.."an Anything for Hillary" - type)...the 'RAT Leadership could have picked ANY Fmr. Congresscritter...but, they chose her - an RENO Clone.

As long as Gorelick is on the commission, she is insulated for having to testify.Very Good point. :)

"Here is the resignation scenario:
-People start investigating how the Clinton/Gorelick "wall" hindered Clinton scandal investigations (Chinagate, campaign finance violations, TWA 800...) -Clinton fears people will discover true intent of "wall" -Clinton calls Gorelick, telling her to fall on her sword to get this out of public scrutiny before it is too late. -Gorelick resigns "for the good of the commission"
Case closed, Clinton is safe again."
Next step. Gorelick gets seat on Supreme Court in a Hillary Clinton administration?
Nope. Her "work" on this commission would stir up bad memories for the Clintons during confirmation proceedings. So she never gets nominated for anything good. She gets used by the Clintons like toilet paper.
Chalk up another fool who let the Clintons use them and then flush them.
To: george wythe
Not surprising. Tom Daschle and Dick Gephart nominated Gorelick for the panel. She is also there to give cover to Tom Daschle's wife.

I think you hit the nail on the head. When this 9-11 "Omission" is done with its hit-job...er, I mean, its work, there needs to be an investigation into the negligence of the Republican members.

My guess is that while the media won't touch this topic...the other members of the commission are starting to realize that she should have never been put on the commission. And this also hints that Bush knew that this episode would come up before the July deadline for the report. I will bet that there will be a private meeting with the commission by the end of next week and this subject will be brought up and Gorelick will go balastic when they hint she should leave. I doubt that the commission has the power to vote a member off...no ever thought about this when they were created. It will likely be the major topic of discussion on Sunday talk shows by next Sunday. It will be interesting to see how Clinton comments on the issue.

What she refused to resign inspite of her obvious conflict of interests?
Don't forget, these were the Demonrats that didn't know what the word "IS" is!
Conflict of interest, as long as power and control and potential self-gratification are involved, it is standard operating procedure.
After all, not only do whiny-liberal judges not excuse themselves from cases of self-interest, they make up new laws to suit their own and their causes interests.
Unbiased, I don't think so....

Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, Utah Republican, who is Mr. Sensenbrenner's counterpart in the Senate, defended Ms. Gorelick. Senator Orin Hatch has been compromised years ago. I wonder what the DEMONcrats have on him. It must be ugly. Otherwise he is an idiot.

Gorelick has begun adopting the usual Clinton scam used to bail themselves out of trouble......turning themselves into "victims."
The regular routine when libs smell trouble is to stoop down, start sobbing, and assume the position of "victim."
Gorelick was on the news crying about harassment calls.....and said she'd been getting death threats.....not accusingly, mind you, but "tolerantly and (gag) compassionatly."
Claiming death threats is surefire victimization.
Ashcroft is supposedly investigating the threats.....same guy who revealed her image-damaging memo. Guess where that'll lead?

Huh? What's the connection between GORE-lick, Linda Daschle, and 911?
From FoxNews Channel - Hannity and Colmes 4-14-2004
Dick Morris: This woman [Gorelick] is bad news. She RAN the Justice Department for three years. Reno was a FIGUREHEAD during that period. And it was her invention to setup this WALL separating investigators from intelligence gatherers. So when Zacharias Moussaui was arrested in Minneapolis for taking flight lessons, I write about this in "Off with Their Heads", the prosecutors were going after him on an immigration violation. And they couldn't let the intelligence types look at his computer, which had the NAMES and the FLIGHT SCHOOLS of the 9/11 hijackers, listed there.
And then the Supreme Court ruled that Gorelick's rule, was unnecessary. They overturned it. So THIS woman is MORE responsible than ANYBODY for 9/11 going undetected.
Alan Colmes: ...[but] she DID recuse herself from cross-examining some of the law enforcement and intelligence officials...
Morris: I want to repeat what I just said. Of ALL of the public officials in the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, the ONE who is MOST directly responsible, in my judgement, for 9/11 happening, is Jamie Gorelick.
Colmes: You like pointing fingers, huh.
Sean Hannity: We ought to put HER under oath. THAT'S what ought to happen!
Morris: That WALL of separation was SO DESTRUCTIVE.

She will never resign. It is not the Clintonista way.
Until the human race settles on a final definition of the word "is", there's no rush to resign for any crime, misdemeanor or conflict of interest.
To: Unknown Freeper
She is the pipeline to madame crusty.
LOL! Madame Crusty. I love it. What a perfect description!
To: TomGuy
If Gorelick doesn't step aside, the report of the Committee with be tainted even moreso that it already is.
She either resigns, exposing the Committee as a Circus from the beginning, or refuses to resign, proving that the Committee is a Circus to the bitter end.
Circus In Circus Out. CICO.

Circus of Commissars
Ah! You got it! Many have been using the word "circus" for weeks. And many have been using the phrase "show trials" since the beginning.
But you, oh BlessedByLiberty, have put it all together in one perfectly apt phrase:
Circus of Commissars
Thank you, thank you!
To: Alissa
The 9/11 commission a farce ? You nailed it they have done far more damage to the security of the US than good.
We must be self destructive to allow such a farce.

Linda Daschle, lobbyist, is the former Deputy Administrator of the FAA, under whose watch all sorts of curious things happened that might be of interest to the 9/11 commission. See: "Tom Daschle's Hillary Problem," Washington Monthly, Jan/Feb 2002.
