Thanks. We really have to make sure the ordinace is demo-ed. They use this ordinance to make IEDs, cut the MSRs, drop bridges and to deny road movement to Coalition forces. The Coalition faces an uphill battle to just reopen and secure the supply routes.

Wonderful read, eloquent and thoughtfully written by a brave American. His last sentence is especially important. The Bush admin. and America must take it to heart.

A few days ago the son of a local Shepard came to our front gate and reported that the dogs had returned home but not the father and subsequently they found some of the sheep outside a nearby abandoned Ammunition Supply Point (ASP). The ASP was not secure and is full of live unexploded ordinance (UXO). Fearing the worst, the son asked us to help find his father.
When we bypassed all those Iraqi troop formations and areas we left a lot of ammo and weapons for the insurgents. I hope this dump was secured.
These are the stories that wont make it to the mainstream news media - no hatred, no dead Americans.

It is good to hear of these things because the news media(even FNN) either does not know about them or chooses not to show it to the public.

Thank you, Cannoneer. Important. Will gladly pass this on. The mainstream press is very late in (accurately) covering the courageous civilians choosing to work in Iraq, or Afghanistan today.
One of my friends is a Special Forces veteran who has spent decades in active service and the reserves. He took some time off to work as a security contractor with a company whose name has been in the news. After the horrible deaths and mutilations of four contractors in Fallujah, my friend sent out a long e-mail detailing his experiences in Iraq in order to set our minds at ease about his mission and the work the US is doing in Iraq. I asked him to allow me to share his experiences with you, and after a few day's delay, he gave me permission to do so as long as I edited out the pictures (for the privacy of his colleagues) and removed any references that would disclose his identity, to protect his family and himself.
Please read this very long post in order to learn for yourselves exactly what these fine Americans serving as contractors for such firms as Blackwater and Halliburton are doing on behalf of their country, regardless of whether you agree with our policy or not. Remember this when you hear people demonizing contractors like my friend as "mercenaries".

Since you haven't been nice enough to respond to my request for a further explanation of your remarks, I will just say that I appreciate very much what this man is doing in Iraq for our nation.
There are twelve other men that I am thinking about this evening. It was that twelve men I was thinking about the other day when I stated what I did about a well-placed WMD in the midst of people dragging our dead contractor's bodies through the streets of Fallujah.
Here's a link to their story. Perhaps in some small way you can understand that I don't want to see hands on door to door searches costing our men their lives. No I'm not on the ground in Iraq. I'm just an arm-chair quarterback who now realizes another twelve of my heros will no longer be on the ground in Iraq either.
