Oh so wrong, HOtD. There are MANY out there who now default to another section of FR, not the home page. If you want the FR homepage, click FRepublicHomePage.

That oughta do it.

Me too. I lurked for about 9 months back then because I thought the IRS would track me down. I've got a few of those mastheads.

But meanwhile, there are a lot of FReepers who now default into other areas besides the main menu.

What the heck is that "(F)" after my moniker? I've never noticed that before.

A FReeper flashback from A+Bert on why he chose the his FReep name...

A+Bert

A+? simple. I always get the right answer. Well most of the time.

It goes back to the beginning about summer of 1997. I found this site thru a Drudge link. It dealt with Whitewater when it first started. Just a few people visited back then and we didn't have to register. People used whatever name they wanted. Deb was Deb etc. and they used to ask questions of one another and I would bust in and give wise and sometimes the right answer. I drove em mad.

To confuse them I would make up all kinds of silly names to fit the topic. Sometimes I even used theirs, that really set em off. They soon made everybody register to stop such antics.

One of the members criticized me for interfering with their small discussion group. FR has certainly grown since those early days. After they required people register I kept my designation of A+Bert. I have had a blast ever since.

I thought A+Bert got time outs for umpteen gazillion times, and then cast into outer darkness.

If he can return, you have to use some real bait for ol' gator.

Bert, Pat Buchanan told me that your 6 month working vacation in a kibbutz was impressive, but he's sorry to learn you've turned into an Israeli socialist. Also, all the Dublin barkeepers have been sending dunning letters for the old post 5 p.m. bills, whatever that means.:)

There's a candle lighted in the window for FR's wayward retired English teacher with a speciality in Anglo-Saxon 4 lettered words.:) Come back, Shane A+Bert!
