Folks, get onto Vote.com. The question in the poll is: Should Jamie Gorelick resign from the 911 Commission? We should hit this and any poll about this failed commission and it useless members! Get to it, right now! Remember the site is Vote.com (Dick Morris site). We can destroy this Democrat "traitor" witch pronto!

Mr. Kean,

I have these problems with the 9/11 commission:

Your statement to "stay out of our business" is totally reprehensible to me. I am a United States citizen and the 9/11 commission is MY business also. Your arrogant statement is beyond belief.

Jamie Gorlick should immediately recuse herself from the commission. Having initialed the memo for the creation of the wall, she is now in the middle of the investigation. She is sitting on the wrong side of the table. She should be providing testimony.

All 9/11 commission members should immediately stop making TV appearances. The preening of the commissioners is disgusting.

I'm seeing badgering from some commissioners of people who are testifying. Where's the decorum?

I would have thought, as one of the co-leaders of the commission, that you would have set rules in place for the behaviour of the attendees. The clapping and yelling out by the audience should have been nipped in the bud the FIRST day. You should have announced that the commission hearing will be closed to an audience if anyone displays any such boorish behavior. These people should have been asked to leave and told to watch the proceedings on TV.

However, even though you had rules, you apparently are not even obeying your own rules. If you did, Jamie Gorlick would be removed from the commission. I personally don't care how nice, or helpful, or cooperative, or non-partisan she has been. She is part of cause of the 9/11 tragedy
and not the solution.

Why were some 9/11 families allowed to provide testimony and others are not?

Why are some book writers allowed to testify and sell books and others are not? What you do for Richard Clarke, you should also do for Monsoor Ijaz. He should be allowed to testify IN PUBLIC also. Both have knowledge of events that led to 9/11, and Monsoor could also use all the free publicity too to make his book a best seller.

This commission is becoming a joke and the public is starting to sit up and take note of its partisan nature. I am no longer supporting this commission. I will continue to write all my representatives and ask them to cancel the commission NOW.

Remember that while Rome burned, the musicians kept on playing. While terrorists are plotting to strike us again, the commission is preening and putting on a display beyond the pale.

"stay out of our business” infuriated me even more than gorelick. How DARE he? Just HOW DARE HE?????

We need to get the keys, lock the doors, leave a sign saying the OWNERS (American taxpayer) have declared this building CLOSED due to _______________(fill in the blank - I would get banned if I did)

It would make an interesting contest to determine who could come up with the best word(s) to fill in the blank, while keeping it reasonably non-profane and generally civil. I would put something like "unmitigated arrogance."

OK dear Enterprise - your "unmitigated arrogance" has brought me down to "rat infestation" for the blank. Thanks for your calming influence.

It will never happen.

Probably won't, and I'm not even sure that it should.

My thought is that Gorelick does more harm to the commission, which is really nothing more than a 21st Century updating of the Spanish Inquisition, by sitting on it than by being forced off of it.

At the best the commission is going to produce a watered-down rehash of the work already done by the Congressional Joint Committee. At the worst it's going to come out with an extremely partisan document aimed at guaranteeing a specific political outcome. In either case, it's going to be irrelevant and meaningless and should rightfully be dismissed for the joke that it is.

But in the event that the commissions report have partisan repercussions negative to the Bush Administration, having Gorelick remain on the committee and have a hand in producing it's report makes it that much easier to dismiss the report out of hand. With Ben Veniste, Kerrey and Roemer remainining on the commission, Gorelick's removal gains nothing, while possibly having the effect of INCREASING it's credibility.

The pressure being put on her and the commission right now is good because it keeps the emphasis on the commissions' lack of credibility and integrity ... but there has to be care that the pressure doesn't go past the threshold where Gorelick will actually resign.

Btw, on a side note, a key Gorelick Memo point that I'm not hearing a lot made out of is how she claims it was a 1980's reg, but in the memo specifically states that HER policy is going beyond what is legally required ...

Kean and the Commission are obviously going to ignore or arrogantly rebuff all calls for Gorelick to resign. Kean wants all the citizens to stay out of the Commission's business, no less.

Wild idea - Could Sensenbrenner call a hearing as a committee Chairman and subpoena Gorelick as a witness?

Good letter! Any feedback? Would it be possible to have it as a "Letter to the Editor" in main newspapers, or would it be passed by?

Kean's comments floored me. I almost couldn't believe what I'd heard. Just who the h*** does he think he is??
