Alexandria, Va.: Since Ms. Gorelick played a major role in assuring such a failure would occur, shouldn't she be removed from the commission and be forced to testify herself?
Dana Priest: Well, they knew her role would be an issue so she's recused herself from asking certain questions. Commission exec. Zelikow, too, has a conflict since he worked with Rice.

Does Recusing GORELICK From ASKING Questions, Recuse Her From BEING Questioned????????
NO!!!! Because she can't ask questions, doesn't mean we shouldn't ask her questions.

It's getting even worse - how is this for incredulous:
From NRO Corner:
"PEOPLE OUGHT TO STAY OUT OF OUR BUSINESS"
Was Tom Kean's sum-up answer to a question about Gorelick's conflict of interest, at a press conferene right now. (He had defended her, and added that she is one of the hardest working, nonpartisan members of the commission.) That, after he had gone into how important it was to "have the public with us" (this quote from memory), and thus the public hearings.
Slade Gorton just tried to get Chris Matthews to leave Jaime Gorelick alone on Hardball right now, as Matthews tried to get her to address the wall memo. Gorton repeated the Kean "get out of our business" line to Sensenbrenner and others questioning her appropriateness on the panel, calling the criticisms "garbage."
UNBELIEVABLE ARROGANCE ON PART OF THESE RINOS HELPING GORELICK COVER UP FOR THE CLINTONISTAS!

This just show how worthless the commission actually is. They don't seem to understand it but it proves that the Washington insider groups just don't get it.

You know, I didn't know anything about her. First exposure was the Condi testimony. And now that I do know, I have to ask: How the hell did
Clinton's former deputy AG get on this freaking commission in the first place??? And the 9-11 yentas are complaining about
Philip D. Zelikow???

When questioned about Gorelick's removal from the commission, in an interview, Kean praised Gorelick, claimed her to be the most non-partisan of the members and said
"everyone should stay out of our business."!!!!
Reminds me of Kerry's replies to those who ask him difficult questions... "It's none of your business."
The 911 Commission is a farce still traveling downhill.

Hate to say it. But now we should be asking for Kean to resign if he doesn't fire her. I don't even care if dems spin it that now people are asking for a Republican to resign. As far as I am concerned this whole commission is corrupt.
To: plain talk
Was just wondering. How much money does these idiots get paid to be on this commissiion?

Gorelick and the famous "minority" Water Gate attorney well dressed and micro-groomed, Hillary's hitman are obviously Clintonazi plants in this sham exercise of presidential campaign by another tv jurisdiction.
Gorelick must be removed from the commission, because of her omission. Lying by hoping for the coverup is lying.

The day this "The Commission" put forth RIchard Clarke as book pusher and credible they sold out their own credibility.
One has to wonder if this bunch have their own book deals in the future.
What we will probably never find out is what the specific incident was that cause the creation of Gorelick's memo.
Something must have surfaced and the only way to protect "somebody" from a coordinated investigation was to build that wall.

Kean has said that it's not within his authority to change the makeup of the Commission. I believe him on that.
Congress needs to be getting the heat from the people. Congress and the President formed this Commission, but Bush doesn't deserve to get the heat for the Commission's performance. The GOP has a majority in both the House and Senate, and should remove Gorelick.
Kean's "stay out of our business" comment is inexcusable. It is the people's business, all of us.

It is the only thing that makes sense. This bunch never did anything that did not affect them personally.
I doubt that we will ever find out exactly what caused them to build a wall but there had to be a specific reason. Would have to know what investigation was going on during that time frame.
Could have been campaign fundraising, selling secrets to China, or those FBI files, Whitewater, who knows but the Clintons had their fingers in everything.

Still crusading for the lying crooked liberals, helping them accuse and cover up their own perverted deeds.

Kean has said that it's not within his authority to change the makeup of the Commission. I believe him on that. You're right. I forgot.
I found this at http://www.cooperativeresearch.org/wot/sept11/911commission.html "... The New York Times reported, The accord called for a panel of 10 private citizens of "national recognition" with backgrounds in public service, law enforcement, commerce and foreign affairs. Four would be appointed by Democratic leaders in the House and Senate and four by Republican leaders. One co-chairman would be appointed by the president, and a second co-chairman by the Democratic leader of the Senate in consultation with his counterpart in the House.
I can't believe the President agreed to this. These jokers are saying there is no recourse and that we are stuck with a commission member with a blatant conflict of interest who should be testifying instead of judging testimony. I say we should continue to give these people heck and muck up the works best we can. What a crock.
