Just heard former Ambassador Marc Ginsberg on Fox News lamenting how despicable it was that "everyone in Washington DC was out of town the month of August 2001" during that summer of so many warnings. He says this goes on every August, and how that practice has to stop. *sigh*

No offense to Amb. Ginsberg, but the president can run the country from anywhere he darn well pleases. And if Tenet's hair had been on fire, Tenet said himself he could easily have picked up a phone.

Ginsberg needs to get with the program.
The phrase is "Summer of Threat"
Thanks

(We citizens recall it as the "Summer of Chandra")

Per Clarke's own testimony, HE put his staff on high alert for 6 weeks during the summer of 2001. Nothing happened. HE took his staff off high alert. (He didn't specify the exact time period.) So, it would see that, if Clarke wants to be the terrorism Czar and the only one 'on duty' then he is also responsible because he took his team off high alert shortly before 9-11-01.
