Have you forgotten who President Bush's opponent is?? (another wooden lying idiot.....in case you didn't realize that).
Do you not think that Americans want someone who tells the truth, and can be depended on to lead them?
The President showed resolve, strength and passion tonight.
Marketing strategies are irrelevant, IMO. He sells himself because people know they can trust him.

"Lets face it Clinton's tongue could do cartwheels . . ."I disagree. Monica's tongue did cartwheels on Clinton, but He spoke with an irksome, grinning, hillbilly drawl.

Missed you!Hey, hey, hey! You just told me that this type of thing is not appropriate on a thread dedicated to talking about President Bush's news conference.
So which is it?

Quibble as you will, and make your excuses. Responses were given with enough specificity they spoke for themselves. I could have gone to any thread and gotten the same response and that was the point. I grabbed one at random to prove a point and immediately saw a post to respond to that raised my dander.
Didn't know until then that the president was going to speak cause I've been sick today and busy with my other threads since I got home up till company arrived. Didn't know what he'd be saying either. So I dived in and raised an economy concern on a thread that might have been topical and might have even had the President speaking to the issue. So it looked like it would be even more useful - but not. Just useful enough. If I weren't preoccupied, I might have read a little more before posting; but, then If I'm looking for gut reaction, what did it matter. It was provided in spades. The one person who had anything decent to say, emailed privately. Presumeably so as not to be assailed.

I've never understood the oft repeated accolade of clinton being a great communicator. IMO he was and is incredibly verbose and boring.

At least you realize that I am a genius;unlike you, pet.
Take your doom&gloom garbage to some other forum, where they'll appreciate it.Or, should you actually be a Conservative, do something, in real life, to change hearts and minds and votes, instead of posting childish garbage here.

Dude, there is no mandate whatsoever right now for WIDENING the war. Live with it.
As for Fallujah, a couple of the Fox "generals" were on the other day, and they thought it was exactly the right strategy---that leveling the town would be stupid. So far, they have been right on.

"His only hesitation was to name his biggest mistake since 9/11. It was a stupid question, and he couldn't come up with an answer because he wasn't going to make one up."
I would have answered: "Easy Question. Not Getting Osama, yet. Or possibly not getting him at Tora Bora."

I sent Chris a hateful e-mail this afternoon when he announced he was having the "professional widows" (what I called them to him). Told him how hateful he was and we all knew he was a Kerry supporter. I also told him I wouldn't watch him again. Now, I know this didn't have anything to do with him praising Bush after the speech but ya know what???? Makes my soul feel better.
To: ohioWfan
I have not forgotten. I think when people see them both, Bush will whip kerry up.
However, Bush needs to right now really, REALLY eat up his base and take some undecides.
Tonight, he only got his base.

Thank you for your service to our country! I'm proud of you -- I really am.

Already have :-)

I thought Bush's delivery was fine, although the questions were banal and repetitive (not Bush). What's embarassing is the total lack of professionalism in the media today - are they for news or only into making it and corraling our opinion?
They suck pretty hard. The only criticism I would have had for Bush is that he should have employed an occasional " I don't think I can add to what I've already said about this earlier", or "I answered that in part earlier, is there anything else?!", or even a timely cast "Pull my finger!"

Thanks for the pings for the Press Bashing Party we'll be hosting May 1st, Bill!
We'll have lots from tonight to use on our signs and in our schtick.
I have to get back to painting and packing boxes now...

I would have liked to have seen the look on LK's face, I cannot stand to watch him.
To: Monty22
If speech patterns and such are going to decide this election then Bush wins hands down. Kerry's monotoned, droning is THE most annoying, grating noise that I have ever heard. He makes me want to slit my wrist with a rusty butter knife. For those who are undecided... they will probably just change the channel.

I replied with one word, not the story of my life.
BTW, I don't miss you.

This is NOT a "chat" nor a "prayer" thread. There are times and places for everything.Really? So what is it that went on here for the first 400 or so posts? What is it, exactly, that is going on in here now? Talk about your vacation is ok, but terminal illness isn't?

I guess we watched a different press conference. I saw him as strong, resolute and uterly amazing in the face of all the pointed political hardball questions.
