UNfortunately my home (as a child) held that Democrat and patriotic were synonymous (how ironic) and that Republican and big business were synonymous (how shortsighted).
It took my dad to realize the depths that the Democrats had sunk to in the mid 60's finally changing his mind.
It took me a while to do so having experienced the murky and corrupt abyss of the socialist Left.
Now, as an enlightened politically informed citizen I am proud to proclaim myself a Conservative Republican.

See my post #1890.
There was a mini brouhaha last week that President Bush was blocking the commission from getting papers from the Clinton administration. The authorization was finally given and the commission kept 12 pages out of 10,000.
I'll bet anything Clinton wanted a particular paper spun in his favor and had Lindsey raise a ruckus and BV obliged by his "questions" today.

Good question from a C-Span caller: Why do you have callers id themselves as Dem or Rep on this hearing today, making it political? Answer: We try to get many different voices. The answer from the C-SPAN host is a bald-faced lie. C-SPAN didn't go to this partisan format until the Republicans gained control of the House in 1994. Prior to that, they had split the telephone numbers by eastern, central and western regions of the country. These days, they often don't even make it Republican, Democrat, other but Democrat, PRESIDENT BUSH, other. Meaning that they personalize their call-ins for and against the president. This when C-SPAN's main reason for existing is to cover Congress.
More importantly, even though their lines are separated by political party, if you listen carefully, the host seldom identifies a caller's party. The host almost always still uses the city from which a person says they are calling. What that tells me is the partisan segregation of callers is for the purpose of screening, only. By not rigorously ID'ing all callers by their partisan affiliation on the air, there is no way for us in the viewing public to know how truly even-handed C-SPAN is or is not. Personally, I don't think they are, but are skewed very far to the Left.

Understood, but for the benefit of the average ignoramus, if such a person were to glance at it in their local paper, the copy I saw actually had no date on it.

Ahh.. Does any of this criticism of the Bush Administration, in office for only 200 days, sound ridiculous to you, as it does to me? They are rightfully pointing out all the flaws in the entire system, but then asking why it wasn't fixed by Bush, etc? Come on! I't STILL not all fixed. These things don't happen overnight.

The memo they're referring to there I believe is the Feith Memo- and it is a devestating memo. Hence the pretty much successful effort by the DNC and antiwar crowd to bury it.

Here is a link to the May, 2002 WP article by Bob Woodward that names the 8/6/01 PDB. It quotes anonymouns CIA sources. At the bottom of the story:
Staff writers Mike Allen, Bill Miller, Dana Priest and Walter Pincus contributed to this report.

"I thought he said MON, but I don't know what that stands for either."That's what I heard him say also.
I just did a Google search and learned that a MON memo is a "MONDAY MEMO" LOL!

Yes.
Major Garrett just delivered a devastating report on today's hearings and how it shredded the premise the left has been approaching this issue from.
By any rational standard that is. In other words, expect the usual media to merrily blather on speculating about this MON BV was hinting about and ignoring testimony of substance.
I do have a question--I didn't hear the testimony from Freeh about the FBI not going to WH without DOJ people, but saw posts that said he attributed to "Travelgate". Major's report said it was due to "Filegate".
So many gates from that era--it is stunning, really. Wouldn't you think that tidbit alone would be a bombshell in and of itself?!
