I've always kind of liked Freeh...
He just said Al Qaeda declared war on U.S. in 1996.
Hmmmmmmmmmm
To: PISANO
No, he didn't apologize. He expressed condolences. Different thing.
Just called the 9-11 Commission. Was on hold 15 minutes. When the person answered, I asked why Gorelick was on this investigation committee. Said she should be under investigation and that this is an outrage.
.
The lady said to put it in writing: 301 7th St. SW, Rm 5125 Washington 20407 and fax: 202-296-5545
.
Said she had 5 other lines on hold. I hope EVERYONE is complainig about this. Her "boss" testifies today... what a joke that is going to be.
To: areafiftyone
"I am looking forward to Monsoor Ijaz's testimony. Anyone know what day he is going to testify?"I've emailed the 9-11 commissioners several times, asking that question. So far, no response. Maybe if we inundate them with that question, they will realize how many people are anticipating what he has to say........!!

So the then-FBI director considered that war was declared on us but DID NOT draft a plan to deal with terrorists, at least in this country? Too busy following Reno's orders to go after Microsoft and Elian Gonzales.

I do think Freeh is being set up as the fall guy, imo. I heard an interesting discussion on the radio this morning where they were saying that Ashcroft is the one being set up as the fall guy and that the commission was going to grill him as harshly as they did during his confirmation hearings.
To: PISANO
That's not how I heard his statement.
To: Peach
Freeh: No declaration of war (1996) against well funded and well organized terrorist group (Al-Qaeda).
[Doesn't look like Freeh is going to fall on the sword for BJ.]

Ashcroft decided to testify after hearing how they attacked Condi and hearing his name besmirched by Ben Veniste and Gorelick.<p.He is still not completely recovered from his surgery.
To: freeperfromnj
Freeh - an arrest warrant for OBL was not going to deter him from the 9/11 attacks.
Frankly I think Freeh is not putting forth a good case for himself, which is admittedly difficult to do when one does not have a good case. LOL

Louis Freeh gets it and the Commission doesn't. Congress' failure to declare war on Al Qa'ida in '96 or '98 was the tipping point.

Good. Later today I'll issue my complaint about Ben Veniste lying from his seat that the title of the August 6, 2001 PDB was kept secret until he asked Dr. Rice for it. It was, in fact, given to to reporters back on May 17, 2002 by Ari Fleischer and published on the front page of the Washington Post May 19, 2002.
To: Miss Marple
He's always been a really decent guy. The left despises him as much, if not more, than they do President Bush.
