Hmmm Freh now brought up the Gore/Aiirline commission, and refering to it as fact. I wonder if he would be willing to bring up the fact that Gore took campaign funds from the airlines?
(crickets chirping)
Yep. war footing. The ACLU and other folks would have been screaming aabout infringing on civil liberties.

Brit was talking about Ron Brownstain's piece in yesterday's LA Slimes:
That widespread belief has two major implications for the 2004 campaign. First, it means that based on the information available so far, most Americans recoil from efforts to blame Bush for the attacks. One leading Democratic interest group recently asked a focus group in Florida to respond to a potential television ad accusing Bush of negligence in failing to stop the attacks. The result was volcanic ? against the ad.
"They were so angry I thought they were going to turn the tables over," said a Democratic operative who watched the session. "It was a very polarizing ad, and it pushed people who were on the fence decidedly away from us."

Kerrey knows that the mindset of Airlines and Air Passengers pre 9/11 was acquiesence, post 9/11 it is confront and kill or be killed. Kerrey had every opportunity to advance that cause pre 9/11. Why didn't he????

Wish Louie had said more about WHY not implemented....due to influx of airline money to Clinton/Gore 1996 reelection campaign!

The FBI pre 9/11 never had a plan to deal with terrorists, particularly those already in place in the US.
Freeh just said he served on the commission with Al Gore that dealt with airline security and that although good recommendations were made, NONE of them were ever implemented.

I called the 9/11 commission lady back armed with facts from their own website. I asked why she lied to me about the White House appointing the democrat members when it was in fact the dems who appointed their own.
She hung up on me.
I did write a nasty little letter to the commission though about the whole thing.

I see that thus far all the hostility marshalled against the Bush administration has been tampered down for the former Clintonistas.

One leading Democratic interest group recently asked a focus group in Florida to respond to a potential television ad accusing Bush of negligence in failing to stop the attacks. The result was volcanic ? against the ad. Hmmm. Maybe it works in GOP favor to have some members of the 9/11 Commission continue to "accuse" the Bush administration of negligence in failing to stop the attacks.

That's exactly the quote I heard.
I thought it was during the piece they did about the Fox News book, which was written by a guy from the LA Times.
