I think I'm in love with Cofer Black. But I can be fickle. One thing for sure Peach, Cofer stands behind and stands up for his people.

Black will be skewered in the lamestream media for his candid assessment.

No cotest between the integrity of Black and Doktor Clarke. Black does not have an agenda and speaks in honest, straight forward terms. No need to parse his statements like Clarke.
Black said the cause of 9/11 is plain as day: not enough money and manpower to fight the enemy. Blame this on Clinton and congress, but I am sure Ashcroft will get the blame by the media.

Isn't it refreshing to hear from an action man instead of these armchair weasels?

Bob Barr works for the ACLU. He, of all people, would be the WRONG person for this panel.
He STILL thinks the Patriot Act was wrong-headed legislation.

I would love to hear what this guy (Cofer Black) has to say in the privacy of my home over a few beers. WOW!!

Good recap, cyncooper.
Although I've told my husband I won't answer the phone this afternoon, it hasn't stopped him from coming in to talk occasionally. LOL

Wow on Cofer Black's comments, and I have to say, I'm impressed that Tenet's response 3 months prior to 2000 when informed they were running out of money was "do what is right for the country".
I know Tenet gets a lot of criticism, but I have posted since last summer that I think he's a better guy than he's given credit. I think I see why President Bush has kept him.

Right, LOL.
Big Jim Thompson questioning now Pickard on 8/2 PDB. He also doesn't know who its author is.
To: Captain Jack Aubrey; Peach
The Post needs to run a correction. Totally false reporting. Nothing in the PDB says anything about Manhattan, lower or otherwise. Bug the Ombudsman at the Post at:
ombudsman@washpost.com
I send a complaint about every day and he listens. If you complain about a particular writer, he passes the e-mail on. The other day I wrote about a Robin Wright article and the next day I had a response from her. It was not satisfying but now I at least have her e-mail address.
If the Ombudsman hears from enough people he will complain to management or quit in frustration.

The PDB never mentioned lower Manhattan. It mentioned surveillance of "federal buildings in New York" only. There are Federal Buildings all over New York including Albany and every other city in NY.

Gordon refers to "the CIA operative" who prepared the PDB.
No name, but that answers from whence it came.

Was Paul Begala sitting behind Roemer? I noticed Tim Roemer turning around and talking to some lackey after his inquisition of Pickard...it really looked like Paulie "The Forehead" Begala.

You're better than a TIVO!
Keep it up please. I have to pick my daughter up and I'll miss about the first half hour of AG Ashcroft.

You're probably right about Barr - he just came to mind as someone who is forthright and would cut through the BS. But I still think McCollum would have been a good choice.
