BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- Three loud explosions occurred Monday in a large compound in central Baghdad that houses the headquarters of the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq.

White smoke came from the area and a siren was sounded.

A U.S. official in the compound said it was not clear if the explosions were controlled blasts of old ordinance or an attack.
