The Oklahoma United States Senate Race Heats Up!
OSU Republicans ^

The race for the open United States Senate seat left by Sen. Don Nickles is heating up.
Those running include Tom Coburn, Bob Anthony, Kirk Humphries, as the Republicans. The Democrat is Brad Carson.
Bob Anthony came and spoke to the OSU College Republicans. Bob is a first class kind of guy. He spoke about different things he's done as Corporation Commissioner. Including wearing an FBI wire, and getting people put away who were trying to bribe him.
He spoke of a race in the 80's for Corporation Commissioner. A Democrat had held the seat for 40 years. Everyone told him he couldn't win. He wasn't well known. Bob is an extremely passionate man. He doesn't back down from what he believes is right. No matter what.
But he stayed in the race. He had four cars stolen, trashed, vandalized, and he also recieved many threats as well. He won that race, and has been Corporation Commissioner ever since.
Here are pics of him speaking to us. Also pics of him with George W. Bush. By the way. The Web site on the projector is one I designed. When I designed it, I asked for advice from Freepers.
By the way. Here is the Web site.

We lived in Oklahoma for 7 years (now we've been in NC for 9 months). All the Republicans are good candidates. I hope the primary leaves them enough resources for the general election campaign, because Brad Henry is a putz!

'Scuse me, meant Brad Carson. Brad Henry is the governor, who is also a putz, and also slimy, and a real goon.

Tom is a good man. I know many people that are friends with him.
But Bob's got my vote.

Thanks for the ping! I appreciate it.
I am definitely in the "undecided" column all the way so far on this. I was leaning Humphrey until Coburn got into the race, and then Bob Anthony got in and now I'm in total "toss-up" mode. I'll need to see how the debates I'm sure they'll be having pan out.
One thing for sure, we can't have Carson win this thing in November. If Anthony gets the nomimation I'll vote for him for sure. Just not sure yet what I'm going to do in the primary.
Again, thanks for the ping!

John Sullivan for Congress bump, OK District 1! I still have a John Sullivan bumper sticker on the 747, but I'll have to get it off and get something local before the (improbably delayed) NC primaries in July.
OOOOOOklahoma!
