SFGate.com, the Web site of The San Francisco Chronicle, suspended three staffers for a column that the site's boss said was "grotesquely outside the standards that we have."
Robert Cauthorn, vice president of digital media for The Chronicle, suspended writer Mark Morford, news editor Vlae Kershner and features editor Amy Moon for a week for their role in the incident.

"Female teacher accused of sex with 13-year-old boy while friend watched."
"I riffed off of that (story)," said Morford, whose offending column is no longer online. "I wrote that from my own experience as a teenage boy, we shouldn't jump on this as a bad thing in every case. . . .

Both the URL and the story at SFGate say this is from March '01, not this year. So if it's not this...what got Lady Markie's butt in a sling this time...aside from the S&M boys, of course? Inquiring minds want to know.

Morford was a teenage boy? That's a tall order for someone who was at the time a teenage girl.

Why would the SF Chronicle enforce standards with respect to sex? Sexual expression in any form is a form of liberty and self identity, as far as theyre concerned. They are hypocrites and phonies for pretending they give a spit. Cowards.
To: veronica
The offending column is no longer available on the internet, so the Chronicle's new directive that no full-text articles from its site be posted here is already paying dividends.
Jerks.

Missy Morford ping!
To: veronica
Moford always writes on sexual subjects, even when the ostensible subject is his own, twisted version of American policis. That his publisher decided his most recent column is "beneath the standards" is the right decision for the wrong reason. ALL of Moford's columns are "beneath the standard" of competent, honest reporting.

I'm glad to see Ms Morford smacked down, but disappointed that that it took so long.

Wow, what a site... liberal self-serve heaven. One can even buy a grey Ho Chi Minh sweatshirt there, to complete one's Communist ensemble.

"Morford concedes that "maybe it was flawed." "It's an edgy column," he said. "It's going to go over the line. I expect to miss. I expect it to be yanked every now and then if it crosses the line."
Like all your stupid, incoherent columns.

Is it okay if I post a paragraph? Is it okay if my freeper friend posts another paragraph? Then another freeper posts the next paragraph?

I expect it to be yanked every now and then if it crosses the line." In his/her twisted circle, getting yanked is both a sexual pleasure and a badge of honor.

competent, honest reportingMorford isn't a "reporter," he's a writer. He doesn't claim to be bringing the news, just his opinion.

"grotesquely outside the standards that we have." What a cynical and totally inaccurate statement. Anyone who prints the homosexual in question has NO standards, period. Only thing I could figure is that advertisers must have complained. But don't worry, this fishwrap will print him again because "the dog returns to its vomit".
